Official Gruden Thread 38

Everyone in this thread has a brain (well maybe). Please use it.

I myself believe that Gruden is coming. Too many signs point that way.

I believe in AV.

Beaver I am not sure. But I am not going to bash him just because I may not believe he has the connections that he claims. What do I know. I am just a die hard Vol fan sitting on my couch reading this thread while my kids watch Hercules (old animated version) for the 87th time.

Believe who you want, but make sure you have all of the facts.

I want it to be Gruden. I think it will be Gruden. But my love of The University of Tennessee is greater than one coach. I will support them no matter what.

What’s crazy is AV logged in this morning to drop some insight and said he was doing so, so we didn’t feel like we needed to analyze, track planes and follow every lead which only intensified that process!!!

Yeah iirc he said to keep everyone from being in a frenzy & ever since his visit people has gotten more worked up. If you don’t hear something every 10 minutes one way or the other it’s a frenzy lol

Hey SDF: I'm more intuitive than analytical. Are you seeing an organized troll against AV and Beav here or am I being paranoid?

I don't think they're organized. There could be some, though. Initially it seemed like maybe some interns in tyhe AD were doing it, but that was weeks ago.

I think mostly it's just folks wanting to laugh at the people in their tinfoil hats.

I would not be pleased with those names. I don’t think they will give us what we need. I think we need a statement hire to show we mean business.

And if we don't get it UT admin will feel it, that is fo sho! But I am ALL IN, it's not time for the faint at heart! SOON!!!!! GRUDEN TO ROCKY TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Howdy Grudemaniacs!! I should say, fellow Grudemaniacs.....

It seems a bit down in here so I will re-share what I learned Friday night:

1. I'm at 50% on getting Gruden. While that may seem low, it is not. It means that we have offered, the money is right, and it is in Jon's court.
2. Recruits coming in for Vanderbilt have been told they will leave that game "knowing who will be the next coach at Tennessee."
3. The fact that it is Sunday, Nov. 19th, and Gruden has not publically announced that he is not a candidate for the job, or passed, or flattered but not coming etc... IS VERY GOOD.
4. I think the decision has been decided, we just have not been told - obviously, and there are many good reasons why that is. It does not matter one bit that we all would have liked to know two or three days ago.

IF, we get no word from Jon's camp that he is out of consideration (for any reason) then my percentage will start to go up.

So, that's my 25 cents worth....

Has #2 been discussed by other insiders or is this something new you brought to the table?

While nothing is outside the realm of remote possibility... what kind of situation would that even be? I’d rather go all in on an another elite coach than donaome weird scenario where he coaches one year.

Read his past... is plan a and plan b, or your scenario more likely. No need to overthink it.

If you interpret “plan beyond the plan” as a head coach in waiting scenario (as opposed to a Plan A/Plan B scenario) then it would make sense.

And if it Truly is a head coach in waiting scenario, then there is no way Grudens contract would be for 7 years. No one is going to sign up to be a head coach in waiting for that long.

that makes me feel better. substance. straightforward.
a real answer.

not poking at you ... just growing weary with all the cryptic writings in here.

appreciate an open, honest, straightforward answer.
:good!:

Looks like Chip Kelly to UF is starting to become a done deal.

Meanwhile, some of our fans are mentioning guys like Brohm, Norvell, & Dan Mullen.

Just let that sink in for a minute.

I trust this guy. Has been reporting the news accurately for the past couple of months.

If you tell a kid something like that it’ll be on social media before you finish talking
