First I click on "Desktop Graphics Cards" in the navigation panel above the product listings, then I search for "3080" to narrow it down. Then I just refresh over and over. As long as you are checking the page every 10 seconds or so you'll be okay.

I just got a 3080 through EVGA's wait-list. I've been signed up since launch day if that gives you any indication on how backed up they are. Finally upgrading from my 2012 rig with a GTX 680 (!), so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

The 3080 is almost 500% faster than the 680, lol.

Anyone try and get the 3060TI yesterday? It was just as bad as the other cards for me, wasn’t able to get one

The major retailers don't seem to care at all about bots and scalpers, so it's unfortunately probably going to take a lot of luck to get one at MSRP before supply fills out. The supply situation is probably better for the 3060Ti than the 3070/80/90, but the demand is also probably higher, so it's hard to tell if 3060Tis will be reasonable to get before the other cards.

Gonna be February-ish by the time supply catches up with demand. By that time we might be hearing about the Super versions of the 3000 series. There are times Best Buy and Newegg restock them, but they usually show up in combo deals.

And for what it's worth, I've still got my sites on an ASUS TUF 3080.

Given that there's very little difference between a 3080 and a 3090, I wonder how the 3080 Super or Ti will scale in comparison. The 3090 is twice the price of a 3080 and is thus a terrible value. But if Nvidia tries to fit a card in between the 3080 and 3090 in performance, it will ALSO be a terrible value because it will be minimum $900 MSRP, which equates to $1,000 in real world dollars, for maybe a 10% increase in performance at best.

I guess a 3080 Super or Ti could outperform a 3090 but that would break with past naming conventions based on performance. They probably should have made the 3090 a Titan card, unless they have that in the pipeline as well.

Yeah, I think they're going to have to try to sell a 3080 Ti / Super / whatever they call it on the back of increased VRAM. The 3090 is only about a 15% bump in performance for a 115% increase in price, so there's no way that I see an improved 3080 for even a couple of hundred dollars more being worth it--I would guess you'll see like a 6-7% increase in performance. But it will likely have 20 GB of VRAM instead of 10 GB, and while that realistically doesn't matter for much at all, I think that's going to be their attempted selling point. Twice as good!!

Maybe it would be almost worth at $799 MSRP. But jokes on me, it would probably realistically still sell like hotcakes at $999.

This seems spot-on. Real world performance gains will be minimal but they'll charge a $200 premium for a crapton of VRAM that won't really get used for many, many years. I guess it may be a better buy for someone who wants to buy one card and then not think about upgrading for 5-6 years, though.

Yea for a little bit last nite I had some issues at first getting the controller to sync but after that no issues. Navigating thru the UI is really fast and smooth it’s much quicker than the Xbox one which I like. I haven’t played any games yet will do that tonite.

It's surprising to see how many people out there want their cards to have more than 10 GB of VRAM. Saying things like the 3080 is garbage because games will begin using that much VRAM and more within the next year or two. First off, no. Second of all, the only game that currently uses that much VRAM is Microsoft Flight Simulator which is one of the biggest outliers in the gaming world. The closest thing is going to be Cyberpunk 2077 which is recommending a 3070. I'm with you guys believing 10 GB VRAM is enough and that the 3080 Ti is not going to be worth it.

I think the 3080 is going to be a good card for at least 3-4 years. Yeah, RT may be hurting at the 4-year mark but that's a good amount of use for a GPU. Got that much out of my 660 and heading that way with my 1070 if I don't end up getting a 3080 soon.

Also, I've been more deliberately stalking the 5600X on sites now. I almost pulled the trigger during a 5800X drop earlier. Hopefully one day soon I will have a 5600X.

And to answer your question I'm pretty sure there won't be a Titan class in the 3000 series. I believe the 3090 is that card.

Yeah the 3080 is an absolute animal of a card. It will be relevant for quite some time. I was still happily gaming on my 5.5 year old 980 Ti and honestly didn't NEED to upgrade, but I wanted the extra frames and got greedy, lol.

At this point I think the 3070 is in a weird spot with the release of the 3060 Ti. For $200 more you get a significant extra chunk of performance in the 3080, and for ~$150 less you get just a smidge less performance in the 3060 Ti. At this point though the point is almost moot considering how hard they are to find. The 3060 Ti in particular is gonna be insanely sought after because of its price to performance ratio. It reminds me of the summer of 2017 when GPUs were impossible to find due to the mining craze. You can't really find any of them without fully committing to the search and refreshing/paying a scalper, and the 3060 Ti will be the most in-demand card of them all.

I hate this mining craze, but I won't start that discussion lol. Anyway if the 3060 Ti really is great for mining that will hopefully take scalpers/miners away from the 3080 which will help me. It just won't be until Feb when I believe these cards will be more available and then we may be talking Super editions then. NVidia made this whole 3000 series launch one big cluster F.

Speaking of more availability, apparently a large influx of the Ryzen 5000 CPUs is going to start happening soon in 2-3 weeks.

A Ubisoft game isn't the greatest pick for making this comparison, and Valhalla looks particularly poorly optimized for PC, as most of the recent AC titles have been.

BUT...there's no denying the PS5 (and XSX for that matter) are excellent values for their price points. I'm excited to get one, but it probably won't be for another year or so.

The take away isn't that PS5 is better than PC. The takeaway is the PS5 punches well above it's weight and is a terrific value for the 399.99 entry level price point.

I think the PS5 will hold up pretty well in other comparisons too, FWIW.
