Next gen console poll: XSX, PS5, PC or none?

It doesn't? What's the story here? I don't have a monitor/tv capable of 4k 120 over hdmi yet so I can't test. What's the issue?

The issue is that the PS5 will not output true 10GB 2160 4K at 120hz. There is some sort of bottleneck at the PS5 side HDMI. Not 100% sure what it causing it but it’s not the cable and it’s 100% on the console side. Xbox series X will do the throughout of 10GB while the PS5 is downgraded to the 8GB cap.

I think 2k is crashing my Xbox. It shut off on me twice in 2 hours yesterday. Both times on 2k, both times in a MyCareer team practice. Has never crashed playing any other game.

Just crashed again. Shut itself off. In 2k21, in a MyCareer practice. The other 2 guys I play with are not experiencing this.

That sucks to hear. I had to do a Sony return on my PS4 a couple days after launch. Sucked having to wait a week and a half while my friends were playing. I feel your pain.

I mean its not a huge issue, being that it takes like 10 seconds to get back into a game. Just annoying. I'm going to try a reinstall and go from there.

Could it be a heat issue? Do you have e it laying down or standing up? Does it have plenty of room around it? I played AC Valhalla for about 6 hours straight with no issues.

Don't believe it to be a heat issue. I assume it would tell me if its overheating, as the One X was capable of. But no, it is standing upright with plenty of room around it.

So the 3080 absolutely screams, lol. It's wild to have the 2nd fastest GPU on the market right now. Never had one that wasn't mid-range.

It's so fast that my monitor is now my bottleneck in a lot of games! Witcher 3 is maxed out, 3440x1440, and FPS are going over my refresh rate of 100 hz.

But of course, now I'm eyeing a full new build! I figure that If I'm gonna drop this much money on a GPU, I might as well go completely crazy and buy a Zen 3 system to pair with it. Just gotta wait for those 5900s/5950s to come back in stock!

That's an expensive build hah! 5900x and what not. I just want a 5600X because from the reviews I have seen the 5600X is right there with the 5900X for gaming at 2K+.

Yeah for sure. Honestly the resolution I play at means my old i7 7700 doesn’t really bottleneck the 3080. And Cyberpunk’s recommended CPU is a 6700. Still, the urge to upgrade is always there!

I was ready last year with Zen 2! Don't know how I kept myself from doing it, but so glad I did. I feel the whole DDR5 with next gen will be way too expensive next gen just like how DDR4 was when it first came out so by the time I get the itch to upgrade again DDR5 will be cheap enough for me to buy lol.

Also, I saw that my CPU is listed for lowest performance on Cyberpunk (i5-3570k). I guess that also means it's time!

It's going to be very much worth it.

What's interesting is that Gamers Nexus actually recommended the i5-10600K for gaming this year, the first time an i5 has been recommended by them for gaming in years.

We've had the other for 12 years and it wasn't even a gaming computer. Literally a new cell phone would be an upgrade lol.
He's never played on anything better so the baseline is basically zilch.

True. I looked at benchmarks for the 7600k and am surprised by how well it holds up in many titles. It's obviously getting long in the tooth now due to only 4 threads on certain games, though. I think 6 core CPUs are safe for now with 8 cores being ideal. It will be interesting to see what happens once developers drop PS4/X1 and their ancient CPUs. I think we will quickly see 4c/4t CPUs become obsolete and even 4c/8ts start to struggle big time. Anything lower than the 6c/12t is already prone to much worse minimum framerates which equates to more noticeable hitching in newer games.

All pre-built budget gaming PCs are going to screw you on something. RAM and hard drives are the simplest and least expensive upgrades. That one Freak posted is a perfect example and honestly I’d say pretty nice for the price. You’d be able to double the RAM and add a 1TB mechanical HDD for 100-150 bucks.

Nice find, @Freak. Also @chargervol if you do go with this HP desktop PC then know that it does not come with a monitor. It's just the tower with mouse and keyboard it looks like. This is a good PC for the budget that you are at and like CubsFanTN said in his previous post you can always add more RAM to the PC for cheap right now (~$70 for 16 GB) as well as another HDD or SSD for cheap (~$50-100 depending on what type meaning HDD, SSD, or M.2) that will get you to 1+ TB of storage on that PC.

I'd like to get an 8-core CPU, but AMD has won me over Intel recently and the jump from 5600X to 5800X in price/performance is just not what I want to spend. I'd rather get a 5600X + 3080 combo than a 5800X + 3070 combo. It's really easy to rack up your price when building a PC and I'm trying my hardest to keep it within a budget lol!

This cyberpower isn't bad. Better CPU. I like the nvidia graphics of the HP better, but this one is similar. You don't get super fast nvme storage on this one, but you get an additional 2TB hard drive, which is kinda nice. Plus it looks more like a hardcore gaming pc. And for gaming pc's, looks and RGB lights matter to a lot of people. lol.
