Apparently XMP is an Intel-exclusive thing, or at least it's only guaranteed to work on Intel-compatible mobos. I would look into your specific mobo's instructions for it, as AMD has a similar technology but I'm not sure exactly how it works.
I ended up snagging a 3080 last night. Sorry @Freak...it sold out in literally 30 seconds as a combo deal on Newegg.

This is my issue. I refresh randomly throughout the day but never frequently over a time period. I still can't believe this is real hah. Which 3080 did you get?
I got the MSI Ventus.
Best time to refresh is between 6:30-7:30 p.m. ET on week nights. Just commit to it for an hour or so and you'll likely get one. Use the Newegg combo deal page:

I landed the Ventus after maybe 20 minutes of refreshing.
Do they refresh the combo deals more? Because I'd rather not buy a combo deal and just buy the card. Also, I'm pretty much set on the ASUS TUF 3080. I might get swayed by the EVGA FTW 3080 if it's the non-OC version.
Yes the combo deals come into stock far more often. You can just return the combo item if you don’t want it. You lose the bundle discount if you return it, so you end up paying MSRP for the 3080.
I'm fine with MSRP on the 3080. Those will never go on sale until maybe after the Super versions come out.
Yeah, it's gonna be tough rowing getting a 3080 for a long time at MSRP, let alone a discount. Good luck getting the TUF. It was actually in stock at the same as the Ventus, but I panicked when I refreshed and saw two combo deals in stock and just clicked the first one which was the Ventus. Ultimately they are all pretty much the same in terms of performance, and apparently the Ventus can be undervolted with minimal performance loss but less power draw and cooler temps. I do find it weird that it has absolutely no lights on it, though. I like the lit-up "Geforce GTX" part on my 980 Ti. Oh well.
That's the reason I want the TUF. Has the best thermals out of all of the 3080 reviews I have seen. Buy I don't see any combos with the TUF? Maybe because I'm on my phone currently. But I don't see them.
As for lighting, I like it but only minimal. I don't need RAM, a MOBO, and thermals that lights my tower up like a the Griswold house at Christmas lol. I do like the lighting on my 1070.
I agree. I only have lights on my GPU and RAM, and a small blue light on my motherboard. Pretty minimal.
So the TUF combo seems to pop on and off the page. I'm not sure what's going on with it. I think it was last paired with a motherboard.
Do you remember which MoBo? I was looking at the TUF Gaming X570-Pro. It's the new, upgraded version of the TUF X570-WiFi.
Hopefully a reinstall or a patch will fix your issue. I mentioned in the PS5 thread that I did a factory reset with a HDD full of games, so I feel your pain.I think 2k is crashing my Xbox. It shut off on me twice in 2 hours yesterday. Both times on 2k, both times in a MyCareer team practice. Has never crashed playing any other game.
I think people are going to be disappointed if they expect these benchmark comparisons continue to favor Sony. The same way I think some of the Xbox loading times beating the PS5 probably won’t continue.
I don’t think there’s a big difference in power but the edge definitely goes to Xbox. And that’s likely what the benchmarks will show over the longer term. The Xbox is the more powerful console. All this posturing by Sony fans over a few early benchmarks is premature.Uh huh. Because PS5 dev tools are completely stagnant and won't continue to be refined and improved as well. Face it. The power difference is completely negligible.
