More NFL Draft buzz for Josh Dobbs

Bray had a much much much much better arm than dobbs. But bray couldn't get out of tight situations like dobbs can. If we had a mobile quarterback with Brays arm and dobbs brain, we would be national champions.

Yeah..I think we have won 2-3 games based on Dobb's legs..I don't think its arm strength..I just don't think the game has "slowed down" enough for Dobbs..plus his WRs aren't getting open

Forget Timmy Chang and insert Case Keenum. I randomly picked out Chang cause I thought he fit the profile of those short noodle armed air raid QBs that no one in the NFL ever takes seriously.

He went undrafted, but he's the #2 qb for the Rams.

yeah..well I got a little irritated :)..its one thing to talk down about coaches..but when people do it about players. especially an awesome kid like Dobbs, it makes me upset...no place for that garbage..he is doing his best, some experts think he might have the skills for the next level...and instead of our fanbase cheering him on..they are like "hes the worst QB in recent memory"

I understand that. I just think Dobbs is a fantastic person and the guy has some wheels, but a lot of people including me seriously doubt his consistency. Of course the OL pass protection doesn't help, but it feels like he has some throws every game that leave me scratching my head.

I couldn't disagree more on arm strength. Dobbs arm is as strong as they come. Did you not watch the South Carolina game? Andre Ware (former heisman winning QB) was gushing over his arm strength. Especially on a deep out to Josh Smith from the opposite hash.

Plus there was the bomb against Kentucky when he threw the ball nearly 60 yards in the air on a rope to Josh Malone. And the accurately thrown bomb to Malone against South Carolina that was dropped.

Dobbs accuracy needs to improve (like every young QB) but his arm is NFL ready when it comes to strength.

You are by far the most delusional poster on Vol nation, and that is really saying something. Dobbs has as good of a chance of playing in the NFL as you do to get struck by lightning.

I backed up my claims with stats that he has already surpassed Worley..that he is the 5th rated QB in 2017...he will get more wins than any of the QBs in the last ten years..its you that have nothing except the drive to read down a kid...show us your NFL draft knowledge and btw what sort of degree do you have?

What kind of degree do you need to debate football on volnation?

Great kid, fast and hard to tackle in open space. Bad pocket presence, inaccurate arm and bad decisions on the field. His legs may have won us some games, but his accuracy and decisions have cost us a lot in games as well.

If I'm delusional then you better tell nfldraftscout.com they made a mistake when they rated Dobbs the #5 QB prospect in 2017.

He needs to stay for his senior year, but his draft stock will be very high in 2017.

If he goes NFL over NASA, I expect he will eclipse all of Peyton's records by the end of his career.

Would that make him a hero or pantomime villain on VN?

What records do you think he will break of Peyton's? Certainly not any that deal with passing yardage, passing t.d.'s, etc.

Not that it matters, but I have multiple degrees

I used to wonder if I was being unfair and a little mean, because I enjoy messing with you and getting you all flustered.

Then EVERYBODY ELSE showed up! :w00t:

Don't you EVER change...that's an order! :)

Let me say it a different way:

I think Dobbs is a great leader. He can run.

I believe those are the only real things he brings to the table at the next level.

I'm proud he's a Vol. I'm certain I can be harsh. I hope he plays 15+ years in the league if he wants.

On Dobbs going early...

I have a better shot at getting rich tommorow.

Some of you are really slow. Dobbs being highly thought of by scouts right now doesn't mean he'll leave. I also believe he cares more about his education than going to the NFL a year early.

I posting these articles to counter the arguments some have made around here about Dobbs not being a legitimate pro prospect.
