9-5 ratio is a lot better then 11-9, neither is very good. Did you watch any of his games? He was terrible. If CJH can fix him it will be his best coaching job ever. I would rather spend a little on him then 5 million on Leavitt, hope CJH can work his magic.Go check Hendon Hookers stats at VT in 2020 and then get back to me.
Do you have to be a certain size to play QB? If so, and he's not but has the skills, do you not play him because he might get hurt? Supposedly, Bobby Bowden passed on Tony Robinson because of his lack of size. Robinson was 6'4" 170 as a high school senior. From everything I’ve read, it’s a weight problem, not a skills problem. He came to Knoxville at 178lbs, currently around 195lbs and they want him closer to 210lbs.
Paying these HS kids is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. I understand it’s the world we live in but it would benefit everyone if teams realize this and stop letting unproven kids be millionaires before they’ve taken a college snap.Rumor is that Faizon's first deal is not huge but $1-1.5M though no one knows for sure of course.
If we have $3M in G-Mac and Faizon together, that's probably about average for a couple of SEC level QBs that don't start.
It's an expensive business but if we went after a room full of upperclassmen, Leavitt is reportedly asking $3M.
Proven upperclassmen QBs are going to cost more so having underclassmen recruits is cheaper.
People don't want to hear it but Congress could rein this in and no one else can.Paying these HS kids is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. I did. Not a lot. But mostly going off9-5 ratio is a lot better then 11-9, neither is very good. Did you watch any of his games? He was terrible. If CJH can fix him it will be his best coaching job ever. I would rather spend a little on him then 5 million on Leavitt, hope CJH can work his magic.
From what I read it was his parents and coach agreed.Do you have to be a certain size to play QB? If so, and he's not but has the skills, do you not play him because he might get hurt? You can do that in college. You can run option offenses in college. You can cheat defense. The guy that would’ve never even started here if not for an injury? Wild comparison. Wgat are the chances we catch lightning in a bottle twice?
They have a 3rd QB on the roster already.Correct. We know little about GMac and for all that we know, Josh could be planning on him being QB1. However, you can’t go into a season with only two quarterbacks. If something freakish happens and two of them get hurt do you just run wildcat the rest of the year? Lol
Could just be window shopping. Probably won’t know how much he’ll have left to spend on a qb until he fills out other important needs in other areas. No doubt he’s got his eye on one or more lower division QBs who fit his criteria, but he’s gotta look at guys who have P4 experience first. Relax. As usual, JH simply waits, then reacts. I see nothing proactive in anything he does, including the portal. Other teams snatch players up the moment they hit, indicating to me that they have worked the kid into the portal and then grab who they have selected. We wait....and wait....and wait, THEN react and grab what's left.
Right there with you. Been saying the same thing.People don't want to hear it but Congress could rein this in and no one else can.
Congress could allow the NCAA legal protection to make some compensation, transfer, etc rules and not get sued for their efforts.
Other than the Antitrust Exemption route, this is reality.
