Mike Leach accepted the UT Job, then we withdrew the offer... Let that sink in

A person will always be able to cherry pick an exception to point to. The trouble with your theory is that for every cherry picked example you can find there are 19-20 counter examples.
😂😂😂 I “cherry picked” the guy critics on this board say they wanted. So when the facts don’t fit the argument, you move the target. How convenient.

Leach rips 'fat, dumb' WSU players after loss

As soon as he isn’t winning he turns on his players. He would rather be funny to the media and hence a media darling above anything else
This would be seen by many of our fans as a positive. Remember...the players, not the coach are always to blame.

This is a bad look for Leach, and I like the guy. He’ll have a tough time living this down. There are just some guys who can never get out of their own way.

I find, usually, I enjoy a person's "weirdness." His would have been on a very short leash if he weren't producing on the field. Glad he's not our coach, not sure it would have been a good fit?

He's just weird, you either accept it and run with.. The guy wins more than he loses.. People put up with most anything when a guy is winning..

As opposed to the Dynamo from Sand Mountain?

Even being competitive, and fun to watch can cure a lot of ills.

I’d rather our opponent had to worry about needing 50 point to win, rather than 17.

Yeah. It's not like he hasn't done this before. He'll survive and maybe lock a guy in a port o potty again. Seems to work for him.

Look at his first 3 seasons at WSU. Not very good. Rebuilds take time. But the one thing he has going for him that CJP doesnt. He is a smart coach.

This can't be said enough. Everyone is ready to fire [INSERT WHOEVER THE CURRENT COACH IS HERE AFTER TWO OR THREE LOSING SEASONS], but just review Leach's history at Washington State. He took over a team that was 4-8 the previous year and took them back a step to 3-9. Sure he picked it up to 6-7 with a bowl LOSS his second year, but then right back to 3-9 in year 3.

If that were the scenario here, the VN boards in Years 1 through 3 would have looked something like this, respectively: Fire him, he's worse than the last guy; Okay, wait, maybe we wrong, let's give him a chance, we're back, baby!; No, we were right, fire him!

But Washington State stuck with someone they knew was a good coach and just needed time (granted he had experience as a head coach, which CJP is currently getting) and the next year 9-4 and have won at least 8 games every year since.

Maybe CJP never gets the hang of the HC thing, maybe he does and we've got another Kirby Smart situation on our hands. All I'm saying it, ultimately, Phil Fulmer is not the type that's going to bow to Vol Twitter Storm and will keep CJP as long as he thinks it is the best thing for UT. Of course we want to win. Of course we're pissed off. But all the FIRE HIM FIRE HIM FIRE HIM talk really isn't going to help anything, especially not in year two. I guarantee you as unhappy as you are, everyone in the homes of these coaches is even less happy--and I say that as the son of and brother to head football coaches.

Now, let me duck behind my riot shield before the rocks get hurled at me...

And hes doing it at poverty programs. You give him Neyland, a better athlete, a faster athlete, and the Power T, I dont see how he wouldn't win 10 games every year here
With pirate talk and which sec mascot could beat up whom , that is how we would win.

Get that common sense out of here !! Don’t you know this is no place to be having any kind of realistic adult talk. !! The mouth breathers are on the way ! Duck and cover

I would have been ok with Leach. If we're losing it could at least be entertaining. I have absolutely zero interest in ever watching a Pruitt press conference

I didn’t think you and I ever agreed on anything...glad to see I was wrong.

I don't even watch these press conferences anymore. Waste of time. They tell you what you want to hear whether it's true or not, all while trying not to hurt anyone's feelings. That's a tough deal to stand up there and not be able to say what you probably really want to say, without fear of media or administration backlash, or worse losing your job over not being PC enough.

Edit: I thought I quoted you're post @'Boro-vol

It would be entertaining to see how long the losing but entertaining press conferences would be okay.

Lol. If he Pruitt was making 50,000 a year we'd be okay with all this losing. And if he was at least entertaining in his press conferences, hell, that would be better than an SEC championship appearance.

Look, all I care about is what's best for the student athlete. Its despicable for the fans to blame them and even worse for the coach to blame them. But as long as he's winning on the field OR the press conferences, he can throw them under the bus any time he pleases.

Lol.

How is talking about Leach productive? He is not here. I really dont care about being entertained at press conferences. Jones was entertaining. Vandy's coach is entertaining.
One of the reasons Fulmer was successful was his longevity and the longevity of his assistance. On the other hand, his lack of change was his demise. We have to stick with a horse and ride it.
Kind of like waiting in line for a portapotty. If you keep switching lines to get ahead, you never get there. I guess an analagy of UT Coaching situation and a pottapotty makes sense.
