I thought your point was he had 1 and 2 star recruits.
You had mentioned about CDD record prior to coming here, although not stellar you have to give the man a chance..if I'm not mistaken wasn't he coaching in the same conference as Boise ST. and Fresno St...both have had a helluva lot more talent than La.Tech, the man got them to 8-5 just last year, plz just give the man a chance, if he doesn't work out then bash him.

I don't know if I would agree that Hammy is a genius, but I certainly don't want him fired. I know who is waiting in the wings. Hamilton had a tough job trying to hire a coach under the current conditions, it was a bad situation. I hope he hit a home run here.
Agreed, but Hamilton knows what he's doing. He's been doing this awhile now.

Yep. The guy deserves a chance.

You have to take your hat off to Mike Hamilton. With all the pressure, he could have taken the easy pick in Cutcliffe, but instead he said the hell with it and went for the win. This is with his job on the line. He made the right decision in picking Kiffin. Although the scrotum douched us over in the end, nobody can say we weren't improving. Mike Hamilton is 1 helluva AD, period.

Other than the last sentence, then I completely agree with everything. I would have been more pissed if he took on Cutcliffe because we know what we have with him. Dooley at least has some upside. I don't like the hire and think he had a panic attack a little, but he tried for a home run.

Dooley has major upside.

Not that I care for moral victories, but did you look at the scores of each game lost?

I did see he lost to Utah State. And getting beat by Idaho even if they were a bowl team is nothing to be proud of. Do you realize how bad those programs are?

Dooley acknowledged that if he had stayed with Saban (after being the longest serving Saban assistant ever) and gone to Alabama he would have been more attractive, but he would not have been as qualified.

Dooley is southern, he gets our traditions, he reached out to Majors and Fulmer and said how much he admires Neyland in one presser.

He said his family is excited to live in Knoxville! What a welcome change.

He said he will not be a trash talker...

I am proud of our new head coach and I am proud of our AD.

If he is such a genius, why wasn't Dooley hired 14 months ago? Hamilton takes all the blame for the Kiffin hire and the mess we were left in as a result. Is Dooley a good hire; only time will tell. I was very impressed with his press conference and think he will at least bring honor back to Neyland.

I back Dooley and believe he may be here for a while. (A lot probably has to do with hope right now more than anything else.) But, Dooley is also a gamble. Because the "genius's" previous hire left us in a terrible situation, a gamble was our best option, but don't start translating that as a genius move.

Yes they were 4-8 last year but they were 8-5 the year before and won there 1st bowl game in 30 years. Last year they were depleted by injuries and lost 4 games by a field goal or less. At one point 6 starters were hurt. He had to play 18 freshmen and sophomore's. Latech is going to have 3-4 loses a year because they are just money games. These things happen when you are basically starting a program from the ground up. Records aren't everything. Look at the numbers half way down the page and you will see the improvement from year to year Louisiana Tech Official Athletic Site

Folks, let's not get caught up in the W/L record from LA Tech. Lets embrace the fact that a man who respects our traditions and who is willing to work tirelessly on our behalf just took control of the reigns. We're not renegades anymore. The Vols are going to win championships again and they are going to do it with any asteriks.
