We have seen what he has done at La. Tech and I'm not that impressed. Does he have upside? Yeah, but not major.

I back Dooley and believe he may be here for a while. (A lot probably has to do with hope right now more than anything else.) But, Dooley is also a gamble. Because the "genius's" previous hire left us in a terrible situation, a gamble was our best option, but don't start translating that as a genius move.

At the time, Kiffin was a great hire. Look at the positives Kiffin brought to TN.

The guy can recruit. He's a workhorse. He knows how to take nothing and turn it into something. He's not afraid to roll up his sleeves and get his hands dirty no matter what the cost.

La. Tech is nothing and I don't remember anybody saying they were becoming something. And I'm not sure about the whole "he can recruit" angle.

No it wasn't. At the time, many believed it would be a great hire including Hamilton; but it turned out to be a disasterous hire. A hire is a hire. It's not a great hire one day and then a bad hire the next.

I think this is a sad day to be a UT fan. Not because the hire. Simply listening to the callers on the sports monster today and then getting on here tonight and listening to people complain about this Man. Maybe it is a bad decision for Hammy. WE ARE VOLS FANS! We should be supporting our program, not slamming our AD about his hire. Lame Kiffin crapped on our players first and for most then us. The fans should unite for the players and our incoming recruits, To show them this is Tennessee and we want them here and that will build into something. GO VOLS!

Also, I love how the OP thought this hire was genius, yet he forgets to mention we were on our 7th candidate.

We don't know that yet. Recruiting 4 and 5* athletes to LSU to play for Saban required little more than a list and a phone to extend the invitation.
