Just read through this thread and UNNECESSARY redundant shots are not hard to pick out, I saw the look on his face after the miss, it was gut wrenching. Not sure if that's directed at me but no shots here. He seems like a good dude. Just seems to have a confidence issue or something and it's affecting him and his effectiveness. Definitely not ok to go berate him or anything.
Not with kickers. A kicker’s success usually comes down to confidence. Max lost his, had a chance to get it back, and didn’t. From a coaching standpoint, it’s mostly mental and helping him to focus on the basics like alignment. After that, it’s all muscle memory. 80 % of every kick is the snap and hold. UT has a kid snapping at a sub .25 on 8 yards and he has had the same holder the last two year. Max needed the UGA kick to go through, he’d be having a completely different year, and so would the team.I haven't thought of what you said about regrerssed, you are right, so could it be coaching?
In golf, it's called the yips. Better to reset somewhere else IMO.Not with kickers. A kicker’s success usually comes down to confidence. Max lost his, had a chance to get it back, and didn’t.
