I've always thought that the appealing thing about being a DC under a guy like Heupel is the autonomy. Josh is an offensive guy, so he's going to leave the defense to the DC...like his own mini head coach of one side of the ball. Spurrier was the same way...and 3 of his DCs at Florida ended up becoming head coaches.Yeah I heard that Day was meddling too much. He prefers to run his program as he sees fit. I don’t see Heupel as the type to get in the way.
