Umm maybe because both parties have their own investigatory resources with additional resources granted to the Judiciary committee (both parties) specifically so they can conduct investigations?

Still waiting on an answer to why Ford doesn't go ahead and talk to the FBI or offer to talk to them or request to talk to them.

What I find so fascinating about this whole event is that, despite what many of them are saying, none of the Democrats are acting like they believe Professor Ford's accusation.

I still believe Feinstein didn't think there was enough there to bring it up, until things were out of her control. That and the confidentiality request. Now there are ulterior motives and so on, which are not necessarily about her credibility.

That's just what I suspect.

Very few are. They've absolutely refused to participate in numerous opportunities to question Kavanaugh. None have called for her to go to the FBI to tell her story. It's clear they want to delay via the FBI "investigation" ploy and if that fails try to make R's look like meanies if Ford ever comes before the committee.

Interesting too they've not offered to let Collins have a one on one with Ford. She's the one that they need to turn.

What's funny is she's shown absolutely no outrage that they got out of her control, no effort to find out how it got out of her control and when asked about it she just says she was honoring the request for anonymity and then it was mysteriously in the press. She's leaving out critical steps (since reporters claimed sources were Dems and Dem staff members) and acting as if this is just something that happened.

She could eliminated doubts about her own role but doing some of the above but that muddies the narrative.

Or file a police report in the jurisdiction where it happened. I think there’s not a SOL for sexual assault in MD.
