It's because Coach Jones didn't name a starter weeks ago, and so, the eyes of the Network + the rest of the world are prone to focus on what they expect as the other guy coming in, early in the game (seeing as how the first 2 or 3 possessions were void, but probably only because of dropped passes or runs-of-no-gains and not necessarily the fault of the starting qb).
Coach Jones obviously didn't expect this type of media coverage, but still after-it-al probably believes that this type of attention is the best way to create motivation and competition.
imo, This type of attention is what not naming a starter can do for you (maybe Coach Jones will learn from it, but maybe probably not/and-or it probably doesn't affect him the way it does the fans and those players who feel the need to have to follow up with a post-game Tweets to show the world that they indeed still stand behind their team, as if players should be tweeting about these things).
