Yep, you're wrong. Didn't happen. I've watched the thing like 5 or 6 times now looking for these phantoms... they aren't real. He threw into coverage twice. He may have turned his shoulders too early once but even then there were two receivers in the area. Otherwise his eyes were downfield.

The "coverage" thing is a function of GT playing zone all night. Players in zone converge quickly on receivers.

but if he doesn't I don't think we will be in bad hands with Guarantano either.

No he didn't. Listen more carefully. He said that they would continue to compete. That does NOT mean it is a competition to be the starter. It means they work to push each other and themselves to improve.

The key to what Jones said was his comparison of JG NOW to QD when he was Dobbs' back up. JG... is the back up and has been for at least 2 or 3 weeks now. A decision was made no later than when Kelly said that the players knew who the starter was.

I jist realized with that exchange that i have been rhinking you 2 were the same guy. Bet I am not the only one. Sorry about that.

There should be 2 conditions for JG to see the field Saturday

1. We are up big,at or after halftime..as QD wasnt sacked at all last week and injury shouldnt be a factor...

2. When Butch had a 1 on 1 with him this week, he apologized, preferably to the whole team, and agreed never again to do that crap.

What posters dont realize is he wasnt just pouting like my 9 year old daughter used to do...he wasnt into the game at all mentally. Didnt listen to Canales, didnt look at photos of coverage, didnt talk to QD...nothing.

IF QD GOT POPPED AND HAD TO COME OUT, HE COULD NEVER HAVE GONE IN AND PERFORMED. I would have put Hunter in. He knew absolutely nothing about the game flow. THAT hurts the team. BIGLY. Thats like showing up drunk. No rational person can say he was ready to lead the Vols. He had no clue. None.

That said...i hope all the above happened and JG plays the whole 2nd half...and does great. He can be our starter for at least 2 whole seasons, and be a multi millionaire at 22 years old. Just needs to pull his head oit of his ass and put the team first.

Unfortunately I didn't get to view the game but why was QD the only one to play, if the competition between the 2 of them was that close. It kinda reminds me of last year when Butch didn't give either of them much of a chance to get any experience, and IMO that may hurt us some this year. Butch reminds me of an ostrich with his head stuck in the sand, but hes the coach not me

I don't think the competition between them was that close. I think butch just didn't want to make JG feel bad.

Fils Aime is looking good. Kelly has more top end speed they say, but Fils Aime is looking more quick.
Keep Kelly out, need him fresh for FL. He is a bruiser.

I'm just gonna go ahead and put Colton Jumper in every post too now. Why not give different LB reps!?
So Colton apparently is the only one that can control D? Please.

Looked like a redshirt freshman that needs more time and maturation in the system. He'll be a good starter in a couple years if he isn't recruited over.

Not too sure after that play. Standing there and letting someone knock the ball out of his hands doesn't look very good for a starter. He takes too long to get rid of the ball. Throw it away. If he can run, then he should run. He reminds me of Dobbs two years ago, but Dobbs could run.

If Espn would have not put the camera on him no one would ever of known or thought they knew what was happening.
