Some of these so called super star players come from a high school where the water boy ties there shoes if they wont them to and they think they are NFL bound a lot of them don't understand its now when the work starts, then when they step on the field some of these recruits just cant get it, not because of the talent but the hard work that it takes from January thru August.Saw this today and haven't saw it posted.

Question I have is... Are the coaches too hard on players or are the kids too soft? He said "the way the coaches talked to the players got worse as the season went on". Wonder if he's talking about practice or their relationship outside of football? I'm going to guess they are hard on them in practice, but what coach isn't?
To answer my own question with my opinion, I feel kids today are too coddled. They're superstars at the high school level and are given special treatment. Then, they get to college and are just another fish in a shark pond.
No. I haven't. According to Jones, DL's need time to develop. While we can hope that all of them come in as developed as Hendrix would have been with a full year of experience and another offseason of development, it is unlikely.Dude, are you serious? Have you forgotten about Kahlil McKenzie, Shy Tuttle, Andrew Butcher, Darrell Taylor, Marques Ford, and Quay Picou.
IF they sign... IF they don't leave... and IF they develop as we hope.Possibly Kyle Phillips and D'Andre Walker. We are going to have an incredible front 7 in 2016.
So you think the program is helped by having a perpetual stream of highly rated DL prospects come then leave before developing or making a real contribution?:no:Maybe they will want to be VFL, if not go get someone else that does.

Further, when Carr left I'm pretty sure that the same logic was used... "Dude, are you serious? Have you forgotten about Hendrix, Henderson, Barnett, and Sawyer?"
Barnett is an absolute stud but UT needs a better "hit" % on DL's.

Funny that Barnett has nothing but praise for our staff while Hendrix didn't appreciate the way the coaches spoke to him.
Did he rip into you at a team meeting? Maybe on a plane ride home from one of the games. We know you must be a player because only they can tell you with any modicum of authority if he is or isn't a player's coach. That's why they're called Player's Coaches and not VolNation Megamouth NegaVol Coaches.:good!:Fact is Butch Jones rips his players and often times crosses the proverbial line of well-deserved criticism to belittlement. Butch Jones isn't the "player's coach" that many Vol fans think he is nor is he a "choir boy".....

Jones and co. often rip their players and cross the line from well-deserved criticism to down right belittlement. Criticism and a good arsss chewin' is fine but when you belittle your players that is not acceptable and players won't take it (nor should they).
