'20 GA OL Tate Ratledge (UGA commit)

Interesting, Matt Luke has been a head coach & is now an OL coach. I would bet that he will not stay an OL coach long. What I mean is, I would not make a decision based on Matt Luke being at OM for very long. I am sure UT coaches are in his ear about this.
I’m sure you meant UGA rather than OM, so I get your point. Luke isn’t likely to be there long. Plus, Ratledge based his decision to go to UGA 100% based on Pittman being his OL coach....already burned on that once, why do it again? I’d think UT coaches will bring this or a similar point like this up again.

I'm honestly really surprised he didn't hold out and try to land somewhere making more money as an OC given how much experience he has as a Co-OC.

Regardless, he's almost certain to be gone within 1-2 years.

I think you completely whiffed there.

He can take a helicopter or a jet. That's not a problem. The cringe is landing a rent-a-copter on the 50 yard line of a high school football field, during class hours, to show how much of a boss he is.
The HS kids probably loved it....he was doing it for them, more so than fans of another team. I remember Lyle having a police escort to Josh Malone's house.

I've never seen anyone land a jet at a high school, I guess you see something new every day though.

Now you're trying too hard.
My point is you can take the helicopter directly too the school, do you know how close the Rome Municipal Airport is to Darlington? I'd also think the jet fuel for Athens to Rome would be more cost prohibitive than the helicopter. Anyway, I'm just saying I understand it, I'm cool with you not understanding though, no need for a pissing contest here.

I will bet there will be at least 3 people who have a meltdown and start bashing Pruitt when Tate doesn’t flip.

You're probably right. I think we have a window of opportunity here but I don't even want to speculate on our chances. I'm encouraged by the fact that the staff saw the window and are making a run at it. Also, the apparent peer recruiting by our current commits could carry some weight as well.

It just depends on how much they can sell development and continuity with Friend/Chaney versus Luke/Coley. If he's looking for continuity and proven success, he'll likely flip to Clemson. I wouldn't stake 3-4 years of playing with Luke/Coley being there the entire time.

Kid may be too late in the game to seriously consider it, though.

We were dead here...I don’t think there will be a meltdown. It’s nice to have a sliver of hope with this kid after he had completely shut it down.
edit: I know you didn’t say meltdown, but I don’t think anyone will blame Pruitt here...just my opinion.

All of a sudden, we got FBI profilers with advanced skills in reading body language in here. I love VolNation.

Well I am in sales, it ain't FBI profiling level, but a lot of times you can tell how a sales pitch is going by the body language of the person you are talking too. In those pictures there is definitely some uneasiness. Now whether Ga gets over that and Tate goes to Athens Saturday and feels better about the Ga situation or he goes where his heart tells him to go, and ends up with the good guys only time will tell.

I think Luke is probably a better bet to last 4 years at UGA than Coley. Luke had a pretty good reputation as an OL coach at Ole Miss.
