Dooley turning in at least five things to the SEC for review/clarification

Check the clock from the time is was spotted for play and the snap. It was a minute and 4 seconds. How was the delay of game not called?

GO VOLS!!

I was wondering this as well, they took a while to get their players on the field.

That looks like a rip. The one I remember was when the guy hit Simms in the chest and the helmet flew off. I think that guy landed on Simms chest.

yeah, that's the play that i'm thinking of. he was sacked several times so it's possible everyone is talking about 2 separate plays. the play i was thinking about looked like a clean hit. i could be wrong, though.

For clarification which play are people questioning; the play where he was hit in the chest or the play from Volly’s picture?

Game is over and in the books...time for the STAFF to look at the lessons learned and continue their professional development.

I know that there are those here that are all too willing to blame the coaches and specifically Dooley for every bad thing that happens... while ignoring a young, thin, and in some areas untalented roster.

UT took an extraordinarily talented LSU to the mat with a team that currently has ONE SEC level O lineman. Several are great talents but as best I can tell ONLY Thomas is really talented enough and developed enough to start in the SEC. Shaw simply isn't talented enough. The rest have great talent but should be either playing sparsely as back ups or else red-shirting.

This also makes Poole's accomplishments pretty amazing.

I don't know when he will get back but Schofield's presence in this game would have made a huge difference.

The long and short of it is that coaching isn't sinking the boat right now... they are probably keeping it afloat.

We already WON at that point.

Nope. Several players were in the field of play when the ball was still live. We did not officially "win" until the ball was recovered and downed.

The "clean hit" and the helmet rip was the same play. After shepherd knocked him to the ground he ripped his helmet, didn't look intentional at game speed but who knows.

I don't believe that is Volly's picture.

It didn't look intentional and most face mask calls are not, but he did clearly swipe at his facemask and grab it which should have been a flag as well. Sorry, more fuel to the fire.

According to The Derek Dooley show, Dooley and his staff plan on sending the SEC at least five instances from the LSU game that they're confused about and want a clarification on. The example he gave being the LSU player throwing his helmet. He doesn't think it will change the outcome of the game though.

Really? He doesn't think they're going to award the game to UT despite the fact that we lost the game on the field? That's quite the newsflash.

The helmet throwing is a very, very good point that should have been addressed by the officials before that last play. If the game was still "live" then that should have been a 15 years penalty and ejection.

15 years? That seems a tad extreme.

So, what exactly would've changed if LSU had been flagged for a penalty? Wouldn't it just be a case of offsetting penalties which just results in another down anyway?

yes. that is the point everyone is making. another play that allows tennessee to get set defensively.
even on the last play, they were still not sure what was going on and were late starting. i think most people understand about the one last play just want both teams to play it on equal ground

Did Simms lose his helmet twice? The only facemask I remember being called is the one on Poole.

I remember a play where the defender hit Simms in the chest and drove him into the ground while Simms helmet flew off and landed several feet away. That is not your picture.

That is her pic Voldad, he hit him in the chest, drove him to the ground, and as he was spinning off of him he swiped at him grabbing his mask and ripping it off. I wished I had the video, but that is the same LSU player.
