I say yes if decent offer. Here's why:
1) 2017 will likely be a step back. Other than a rs freshman QB and Jennings, no superstars.(so far none in current recruiting class)
2) SEC too competitive. Would be a better fit in ACC with only two really powerful teams.
3) No AD at UT.
4) Expectations too high and not appreciated at UT if you believe the rumors.
5) Burning red shirts like Calloway's doesn't look like someone planning for 4 more years.

Honestly what top tier program would hire him? Any AD that has watched us play this season wouldn't touch him.
The only way Butch leaves UT is if he is fired. As of right now, no other school (or NFL team for that matter) is remotely interested in him, IMHO
This is one of the best jobs in the SEC and the biggest Jones has had his whole career. He is a decent coach and has pulled us out of a giant hole but I don't see anyone offering him.
Well, he seems to follow Brian Kelly to jobs. Brian Kelly left Central Michigan and bUTch took the job. Brian Kelly left Cincinnati and bUTch took the Cincinnati job.
What if Brian Kelly leaves the Notre Dame job? Would bUTch take the job?
I'm pretty sure Brian Kelly's salary of 1.62 million isn't going to entice Butch Jones, plus you don't get the recruits to Notre Dame like you do UT.
Notre Dames return noted that Kelly was permitted to receive compensation from external sources with prior written approval from the university, and that any such pay was not reported on the tax form.
He'll stay until his contract runs out or he gets fired. Who's going to pay him more than we are right now?! There are a handful of schools that he could go to that would be an upgrade, and none of them are looking at Coach Jones. Expectations are what this school and this conference are about, granted some of the fan base is irrational, but that's a part of it. If he considers becoming bowl eligible a goal he should go back to Central Michigan or Cincinnati.I say yes if decent offer. Here's why:
