Dobbs is not the answer

I love this forum! A couple weeks ago Dobbs was "the answer" and a heisman candidate and questions on why he hasn't played every snap since coming to UT.

I don't think any of us saying he's not the long term answer said anything like that. You should take that up with them.

Have you watched the game tonight? If Vandy could catch he would have about 5 int tonight.

There's a reason on 3rd and 9 we just ran the ball.

Dude shut up and just enjoy the win. Dobbs will get bowl practices and an offseason under his belt to work on his passing. We got the win its a rivalry game anything can happen. Vandy beat us 2 years in a row and we just ended the streak.

Because I go through life caring what he thinks.

I'll let you sunshine pumpers jump on and off the bandwagon a few more times though.

Yes, this sunshine pumper will stay right on the same bandwagon he's been on for nearly 40 years.

Right with the Vols.

Vandy actually came to play tonight. They played inspired football. This is an instate rivalry we can't just look over Vandy like the old days.

His throws have been horrible. He doesn't process the defense fast enough either.

Watch for 1 of the early enrolling freshman, to make a big push for PT next year.

Haven't trusted you option since all the Gruden talk! You hush your mouth when you talk about Dobbs!

Perspective is something that is lacking here. We lost Hurdy which means they can key on Dobbs and passing game. We lose North for the year. Malone disappears.

We essentially beat Vandy with 2 decent WRs, our backup RB, a banged up and injured OL with 2 second string players, a Defense without their best player and QB of the Defense and our starting CB.

We lost this year our starting QB for the season, starting and best WR for the season. We played with one RB most of the season and we lost 2 of our starting OL. We lost our starting DT, We lost our best player on the team in AJ and we lost his backup in Dillon and we still made a bowl. We essentially are playing our 3rd string MLB.

If Dobbs isn't the answer, Who is?

Whoever it is isn't on campus. Look...I am glad he stepped up this year. His athleticism won us a couple of games we probably would have lost otherwise. That does not mean our ills at QB are fixed. He's not the one....he's just the best one right now.

Vandy was in his face all night. No Hurd. Had Wharton, Johnson and Jenkins playing a lot of minutes. Didn't see North, Croom, or Malone. He may not be the QB of the future because he throws to the opposition too much, but hey-----he played well enough to get us to a bowl.

The center really needs to practice his snaps. The o line needs to block. Dobbs will be ok.

Yeah...nevermind the pre-snap reads or seeing the open receiver downfield. Just get those snaps cleaned up.

Poor Dobbs gets a little worse every game.
Butch just breathed a big sigh of relief though.

Dobb's works best out of the pocket, last two games he wants to stay in the pocket don't know if its him or coaching, he does'nt have the arm to keep yhe recievers involved(probably why they want whorley or peterman) but i do ike a dual threat qb, but one thing is for sure he missed hurd tonight

Yep, what he said. Dobbs does much better out of the pocket. I'm thinking both Dobbs and Hurd should be running backs. Dobbs threw pretty well against softer defenses.

I said last year Justin Worley was our best hope to get to a bowl...I said after Dobbs came in he was our best chance...now someone else will have to step up if we are going to win 8 games next year. We can't win with a QB that can't consistantly make throws 40 & 50 yards downfield...I still like the kid a great deal and thank him for his service.
