No, she is selling a reduction in expectations for playing time from even the best players, not more playing time. I understand the theory of her system. I do not think it applies to elite basketball players. It is hard for me to imagine Bridget Gordon, Candace Parker or Tamika Catchings (or any other great women’s basketball player) being comfortable in a system where they play in two minute intervals.Well I guess the positive spin, Kim can sure sell playing time to the portal players.. Hope Civil and Edwards hold to their commitment but not surprised if they jump ship.
Honestly, it reminds me of the very old days when women were forced “for their own good” to play half court and six versus six so that they didn’t exhaust themselves. I would love to hear from any top basketball player arguing in favor of mass hockey substitutions. It is not part of the game for a reason. I’m sure it might help lesser athletes.
