Once again, what has our all sports trophy ranking been since his arrival? Facts that should LEAD any analysis of DW’s priorities. Anybody got them handy? If football is succeeding, DW is safe. Football makes lots of money. Men's basketball makes some money. Everything else operates at a deficit. People can be upset and offended all they want, but unless football struggles, DW is safe. I don't like it, personally, but I recognize it for what it is.
You need more than one year for a trend analysis. Results with HER new team next year will be telling and can be intelligently addressed.I think I read where Michigan’s roster was close to $20 million on the men’s side. If we had that type of money in our men’s or women’s program then we could just pick whoever we wanted. Dusty May had also taken FAU of all schools to the Final Four. Also, Kim just literally did a terrible job of meshing new players on a roster of her choosing. She brought in 9 new players and failed miserably. We’re going to have more new players than that nect year. Going by her track record this past year of having a practically brand new team playing together, what would make anyone think that she wouldn’t do just as bad of a job next year meshing them together.
This was HER team this year too. By your logic, she whiffed on evaluating on every last one of those players then. People want to pin the blame on Lazo or Tubner, but the buck stops with her. Either she had no idea on how to choose players, or she completely washed her hands of actually building a team and let her assistants do it. Either way was a major failure on her part. And yes, we desperately need on floor leadership since there was a massive void of it on the sideline. You need more than one year for a trend analysis. How many of our voluntary departures would you beg to stay? Pay? Not going to individually dog them, and may fit better elsewhere, hope they do, but new coaches with new connections COULD be the best path. We desperately need some on floor leadership.
For sure the fit and execution by this squad was bad. But do not see it practical to change the HC this year. IF IF IF she has enough money committed to put together a better staff to evaluate and acquire talent then she will survive. If not she won’t.This was HER team this year too. Oh I completely agree with you that it’s all about following the money with Danny. I just don’t see that it’s any more practical in having to start from scratch with the current coach in year 3 or a new coach, which is what we are having to do.For sure the fit and execution by this squad was bad. DW has a clue on the money sources and the financial impact of those making all the noise on social media. Follow the money, this year and next.
