Coaching Search Thread

I agree, very unlikely, just saying a school may work on buyout of they want their guy out.

The buyout isn't on the school's side, it's on Crean's side. If I.U. fires him, he has a giant buyout. No way he leaves unless I.U. fires him. He would be leaving a ton of money on the table.

The booger eater is backing Dave Hart to hire CPAs very own Drew Maddux as our next head coach before Vandy can snatch him up upon Stalling retirement. Maddux has guaranteed to bring Blaxwell and that stud 8th grader that was playing on his team this year too.

Give me Hurley please. Great coach and I think he will be a great recruiter. The guy from Northern Iowa would be nice too. There is one option no one has mentioned. Bring coach Calhoun in old Uconn coach let him stabilize things for three to five years and have a coach in waiting like they did with Kevin Ollie. Can't remember if he had issues with the ncaa or not though, I know had some health problems.

Maybe he can bring in Laettner to get in his grill, piss him off and make him a better coach. Seemed to work in the '90s.

I can see him dropping into the mid-major for an up and coming young coach.....but dipping into the HighSchool ranks? Can't see it.

Chris Mack would top my list of what I think are realistic candidates. Xavier is his alma mater so he probably has deep roots there, but UT could certainly give him a huge raise.

Of an on poster checking in. Long time poster may be aware of my affiliations to UT.

Just wanted to provide some outside perspective from someone with fairly strong ties to the program.

I really think it's important to get someone who is hard-nosed and fiery yet under the radar. Someone who is not coming from a big program trying to live up to their performance there

Being a New Yorker I like the hard-nosed up-north angle and think you need someone who would totally benefit from the resources of a big time sec program.

Someone like Bobby Gonzalez

So a guy who hasn't coached in 5 years?

Yeah.......no.

I just read an article from last year where Mack said he has been courted by multiple schools and offered more money. But he likes Xavier and coaching is about more than money.
