Boo's mom

Man, I can't wait for this guy to clean out his locker and be gone. And it isn't lost on me that if fans feel this way, can you imagine what the locker room is like with him in there?
Looking back the lack of inspiration and effort from our team Saturday could have been the drag of this issue. He has been a distraction more than an asset this season it would seem. He may not have as many big-bucks transfer options as he and mama think.

I don't blame coach Heupel a bit. He tried to give a kid a second chance at a career he's worked so hard for. Too many handlers in his head qith hand held out. Hard to blame these kids qhen they get that much money in their hands football may become 2nd
I give him a mulligan for Nico. Not for Boo. He screwed up the team dynamic. Undercut the player counsel, only to have to part ways anyway.

I get where you’re coming from but somewhere you gotta put the 84 players who did the work, made the sacrifice & commitment over giving a guy a 2nd chance who did none of that. I posted this summer if this impacted the team during the season it was all on Josh. It has.

I wonder if Tennessee was actually paying Carter’s NIL deal would they kept him during this season. Spyre is paying it now using other people’s money. Carter’s NIL “value” was negative to me.

Well said. This is 100% on Josh.

Heupel should have cut him before the season started.
Looking back it might’ve made things easier, but he didn’t have any legal issues and we really don’t know everything that goes on behind the scenes. It sounds like he has a lot of negative influences and that has had a big impact on how his career has been handled so far . It’s unfortunate that his career here was cut short for a lot of reasons.

There was supposedly a locker room altercation between Joe Milton and I believe it was Jeremy Banks the week before the SCar game. Banks was pretty vocal wrt his displeasure over Hooker’s NIL deal, started in on Hooker and Joe Milton supposedly put him on his @$$. Sounds like Joshua Josephs and Kitselman have had enough of Boo Carter as well, although I think they were the leaders of that player council and agreed to let him come back.
Arion Carter and Tealander are the dogs thats what I hear. Probably Josephs also since they are all defense.

I'm not anywhere close to an insider, but I'm hearing differently. I'm hearing that he's open to discussions with the right school, and that LSU is interested and intent on overpaying, especially in this cycle where there are lots of vacancies.
Most coaches would crawl to LSU but if I was Heupel I would stay put.

Well, if they're firing a guy that had only slightly worse record there than Heupel has here, you'd think job security would weigh into the decision.
I would say that most people view what Heupel has done here to be much more impressive than anything Kelly did at LSU. Including going down there and beating their ass by 4 touchdowns . It also doesn’t help when you treat people the way Brian Kelly does.

That’s right. Heupel’s took a risk bringing him back against wishes if team leaders. It was clear this summer that this could be a big locker room issue. It’s hard as a coach to be taken seriously in discipline issues with other players when you allow such nonsense for one .
Evidence on going against team leaders please?

What established, top program is going to take her and her kid on now? She'll b!tch and moan at the first time he's forced to follow any team rules or expectations set by the staff. When it's always everyone else's fault, at some point you have to look in the mirror. Good luck to them.

I have the same question. Unless my elderly brain is failing, I thought we were told that the Player Leadership Council was brought into the discussion and they agreed to let him come back with stipulations.
Guess it depends on who you believe. There have been a couple people who’ve been ahead of this for months that said Kitselman and 1-2 more of those guys wanted Carter out.

Coach probably saw a kid who needed some proper adult influence and thought he could provide it.

Yeah, that's what I think too. It's nice to win games, but the main purpose of any school is to give a student the opportunity and guidance to become a better and more capable member of society. Coach Heupel gave Boo a leg up, but Boo threw away the opportunity. Coach Heupel did all he could for the young man and more than most would have. I wish Boo would've lived up to his potential on Rocky Top, but I wish him the very best wherever he goes.
