if you really want to know the truth, we were screwed with the 3 we had...now we are screwed with just 2.
I don't think we're screwed at all; I think this staff knows that with what we have we're just going to run the ball and lean on the D. We do that last year and we win 8 games and thats probably a fair estimate for this year. Coleman being gone doesn't change that number at all
The one bad thing about this is the competition in practice will go down. JC needs to be pushed to his limit (which isn't much in the first place) and now that Coleman is gone, there may only be one (or two) qbs who have a shot to challenge him.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but.....
Would it be better that our coach(es) were less than honest?
This is better for everyone.
The team get's a spot open.
The kid get's the chance to show his ability elsewhere.
They aren't throwing him off the team. It's a mutually beneficial decision.
I understand, but usually when there's competition in practice, it brings out the maximum potential in the players. Not saying it would have made a huge difference, but another qb wouldn't hurt.
I understand what you're saying but put yourself in Coleman's shoes (sorry can't call him BJ). If the coaching staff told you, which apparently happened if you read between the lines, that you wouldn't be playing very much for the Vols due to your percieved limitations wouldn't you want to go somewhere you would get a better chance to play?I understand, but usually when there's competition in practice, it brings out the maximum potential in the players.
