BJ Coleman (Merged)

...I don't think it's Coleman's fault that they were 5-7 last year. If I remember correctly he didn't get to play all that much...

I wish him the best wherever he goes.

Fom what I saw Saturday, it looked wide open to me. Stephens is still playing catch up, Crompton still looks lost about every third play.

Same here. Here's the thing though, from the get go a lot of people labeled Coleman as Manning v2 and that just never materialized. The ego that came with that conversation though seemed to have made it's way into BJ's head and what he doesn't understand is that no matter what you are guaranteed nothing playing football. You have to earn everything to play this game, because the first time things are given to you things will become more and more meaningless and instead are filled with a false thought process on how things work. See the past 10 years and how things have worked with this team before competition came back to the Hill. Competition isn't for everyone, and obviously Coleman was looking for some kind of hand out it would seem at this point in his career.

Your bitterness and bad attitude is not just limited to basketball? You come across as a modern day scrooge. Are you ever happy?
Yeah, hand wringing and crying about an FCS quality QB leaving is evidence of a much better attitude. I'm almost always happy. The rare times I'm not, I simply compare myself to the average, orange overall wearing rube in our fanbase and I feel much better. It's new era. If you want a staff that remotely gives a damn about being the players' friends and their feelings, quit watching UT and wait for some bottomfeeder program to be dumb enough to hire Fulmer.

It was the whole teams fault and the coaching staff's above that. Coleman couldn't beat out the same QB's last year, so why is he complaining about 2nd team reps and an injury to Stephens that let him prove he can play. Patience in a virtue, look at Matt Cassell.

He's a walkon who has college paid for by the Red Sox and his dad is the HS coach of one of the nations top WRs. We couldn't really turn him down, but he's nowhere close to SEC material.

I do not know much about this Rozier guy but I do know that a 26 yr old (isnt that how old Rozier is?) is LIGHT years away from a 18 yr old...I guarantee you his decision making skills are far better than what we have now..Think is...if he can throw a baseball in the low 90s (80s now I believe last clocked) I am sure he can fling a football..time will tell but I am willing to give him a chance...Shouldnt we give him a chance before we judge?

No thank you....I am very excited about this staff and it is a new day. Just have never read one of your posts....mainly on basketball where you have liked anything involving UT...or maybe it just your dislike of Bruce Pearl. Glad to see you are happy sometimes...must just not be when you are posting.

I was just thinking the same. Add in the fact that Cut "hand-picked" BJ and the Coleman legend grew. But what was Cut really going to say, "Well we struck out on everyone else so we just grabbed this kid from Chatt to fill a spot"? No, he's gonna pump up every kid who signs

How bout just accepting that people's opinions on a message board don't AT ALL reflect on one's morale status in the real world.

I don't disagree with that at all.

rozier has about as much of a chance to start the season opener as burney veazey did of beating out tee martin for a job. it's not gonna happen

Add in the fact of our failures in recruiting the offensive side of the ball for the past 4 years Pre-Kiffin, and you have a BIG answer on why we aren't that good. I'm not talking about WR, TE, or RB, I'm talking about QB and OL. Those are the two positions on offense that if you don't recruit well you will fail on the field.

That's what is bothering me. Coleman said in his interview to the Chatt press that recruiting is playing a role in the QB race. If true, that is absolutely pathetic. My excitement over Kiffin just dimmed a bit.

Ummm....I would trade BJ for Heaps in a nano second....If we get Heaps the best of the Best WRs will come to Ktown...we would be unstopable..Heaps name alone would recruit...If we do get Heaps...we will have the #1 recruiting class in the country...book it

He has had his chances to start.....Does the fact that two coaching staffs didn't think he was good enough to beat out Crompton not cause you to think that there may be a problem with Coleman??....Those coaches are with them all the time...They coach them......I believe they would know better what is going on with their team than all of us would....If Coleman didn't think he was going to get playing time and wants to leave then that's his choice....Good luck to him....
