The Pac 10 was the toughest to pick because it has been completly random including the fall of USC last year. Oregon State has a great running back, and could probably beat us 6 times out of 10 and so would a Masoli-less Oregon and a Toby Gerhart-less Stanford. But we could possibly do the same to them, thus the toss up. When we have a 30-70% chance of winning, I say its a toss up. With a team like Vandy or Rutgers I think we have a 70-100% chance of winning, so that's a win. Alabama, USC, Texas, Ohio State we have a 0-30% of winning, so that's a loss. As for Simms not getting on the field, that was a kid being a stupid kid. Yet another reason why college football is so random. I'm confident he would start there now. I forget you're a guru though.

A toss-up is 50-50.

CAN we beat Oregon? Sure. We're at home, they have to travel thousands of miles, and it'll be wicked hot.
Does that mean we'd be better than them on a neutral field? No.

That one is every bit as atrocious as the previous list.

The offenseive line IS

Jim Chaney, in his video explaining a simple run to the left side of the center, explained that our Left Tackle (Dallas Thomas) would need to "grow up, be ready to be a man real quickly this fall." Just what I want to hear about my insurance policy...

we can all see you.

You just owned me..

Although, I am not sure being able to put myself as my avatar is a problem. Seeing as how it means I am comfortable with myself.

Don't worry if I was a dumb fat redneck I would use Smokey as my avatar as well. :)

A toss-up is 50-50.

Everything that isn't scientifically definite is 50-50.

"Recent research into coin flips has discovered that the laws of mechanics determine the outcome of coin tosses: The startling finding is that they aren't random. Instead, for natural flips, the chance of a coin landing in the same position as it started is about 51 percent. Heads facing up predicts heads; tails predicts tails..." - Washington Post

Any game on any given Saturday can go either way regardless of talent or playing field, so you can't use 50-50 chance. 50-50 just says one has no clue. It's like when the weatherman says there's a 50% chance of rain...that's just sitting on the fence. So I like 0-30, 30-70, 70-100 :p

I'll put $1,000,000 on 2008 Florida over FIU, daily. I have a feeling over a full year, I won't be losing much money...

That's my point... Florida over FIU every day of the year would fall in my 0-30% win for FIU. So, yes, you'd be a wealthy man. 50-50 could probably never be the case with a college football game. There are far too many variables. Even if you cloned the Gators and had them face one another 100 times, the chances of a 50-50 tie would be astronomical. The wind could be blowing during a field goal and not on another. The referee could make a bad call. It could start raining. Urban could have a heart attack, etc, etc, etc. I'm just saying calling a toss-up a 50-50 isn't necessarily true.

A toss-up, to me, is when you have 2 teams so evenly matched that the expectation is for each game to be able to go to either team, without it being a surprise. Us versus Wisconsin wouldn't be that close.

That is what the term "toss up" has become, yes. But, if we played anyone of the 65 teams 100 times, the chances of a "toss up 50-50" would probably never happen. That's why I say we have a 30-70% chance of beating Wisconsin, not a 50-50 (we may win 30 out of 100 or we may catch a ton of breaks and win 70 out of 100, but even those percentages could never be accurate.) There are too many variables for any evenly or unevenly matched teams to split 50-50. So saying it could go either way, without surprise, doesn't mean it's a 50-50 toss up.

If you go .300 against a single team, it's not a toss-up. The other team is clearly better than you.

because we had a little weasel of a coach who was more worried about making himself look good than winning games with the best players available. "If he has to play walk ons than man tennessee must be really down. And he still managed to have a winning season."

Your posts get dumber and dumber each time. I thought, at some point, you would bottom out. I guess that time is still quite a ways off.

I must have missed where Kiffin benched Eric Berry and Montario Hardesty to "make himself look good." Or where Janzen Jackson wasn't the only player he recruited that started last year.

It'll probably be somewhere around the South Carolina game, right?

me thinks he would have looked a lot better if he played the better players and won 10 or 11 games.
