A Question:

montario hardesty didnt have atrack record. He did not play the best players available at many positions. He knew that if he played walkons or kicked proven players off in spots where he could play freshmen he did it to make himself look good. There is no doubt about it. It was a win win situation if these players played well he would be praised. If they didnt he would have an excuse

Name these "proven players" Kiffin got rid of.

And to think, If Phil was still around, he had already set himself up for passing the blame.

you aren't seriously arguing he shouldn't have played hardesty are you? the guy was your whole offense for half the season.

How many of the other 65 teams in BCS conferences are you confident Tennessee will be better than this season? I'll hang up and go watch '80s porn on my BetaMax. Posted via VolNation Mobile.

Here is my lazy analysis because I have a few minutes to kill:

Looking forward into the season, we will be predictably and markedly better than the bottom 2 or 3 teams in each of the 6 BCS conferences. So of the 65, let's say I am confident we will be better than 15.

I am hopeful we can be better than 32, but there are too many holes, too few stars, and too much uncertainty to have any confidence. If offered at the moment, I would take 7-6 with a victory over UK and a Music City Bowl birth and book it.

Everything that isn't scientifically definite is 50-50.

"Recent research into coin flips has discovered that the laws of mechanics determine the outcome of coin tosses: The startling finding is that they aren't random. Instead, for natural flips, the chance of a coin landing in the same position as it started is about 51 percent. Heads facing up predicts heads; tails predicts tails..." - Washington Post

Any game on any given Saturday can go either way regardless of talent or playing field, so you can't use 50-50 chance. 50-50 just says one has no clue. It's like when the weatherman says there's a 50% chance of rain...that's just sitting on the fence. So I like 0-30, 30-70, 70-100 :p

The question is about who we will be better than. If we beat UNC or Wisconsin or Oregon 30% of the time, we are not better than them. It's not that complicated

I feel very comfortable that we are better than 20 of those teams. I would also put another 10-15 in the tossup category.

Im arguing that hardesty was another opportunity to make himself look smart. He didnt have a track record. the depth chart a running back should have looked like this. 1. hardesty 2. creer 3. poole. 4. Brown 5. oku
Creer was exactly what we needed at that position last yr that we didnt have against florida alabama va tech. At safety he saw a prime opportunity to start jackson. Make no mistake jackson is very good and played well last yr. But demetrice morley was a hell of a football player as well. And on the offensive line he chose walkons just so he could look good if they played half way decent. And ultimately his planned worked because you guys are still sucking him off. Even though he didnt beat one team that was better than us and lost to at least 2 that were inferior. But youll see his inconsistent work ethic and attention to detail will never allow him to win big. oh yeah and terrible pressure decision making.

Creer was soft and not better than BB.

Morely was terrible and flunked out of school.

BJ Coleman and Darris Swatelle the Volnation equivalent of Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson!

He kicked off the best player at fs. he kicked off the second best player at rb. he play the best oline group that he could have. All to make himself look good.

Kiffin dismissed Morley because he thought going to class was optional. He was nothing but another loser Fulmer bust.

Creer wasn't kicked off. He left on his own after Hardesty, Poole, and Williams all proved to be better than him in spring ball. He was the 4th best RB on the team before Brown and Oku even arrived on campus.

lennon creer showed great vision and cutting ability. he had averaged 5.9 and 5.3 yds per carry. There was absolutely nothing to say that he was soft.

Christ! Being a Fulmerite is one thing, but you've totally just taken it to another level.

Were we better than UGa? SC? UK?

No they didnt prove to be better than him. 5.9 and 5.3 ypg. He quit because he was buried unfairly on the depth chart just like coleman
