I was putting it into terms you'd understand. 1938 will always be better than 1998. But you saying that team will go undefeated, after being a BCS bowl team the year before, losing, then losing your Heisman-caliber QB, is equatable to UT's 1998 team.

the difference is that UT team was filled with 4 or 5 star guys who were future hall of famers. oregon's around 4th in the pac-10 in recruiting.

Seems much more relevant to go back 2 yrs to when kelly took over. Oregon is easily the best team in the pac 10. Cal is a declining program that was never really very good to begin with.
