Indeed, that's why I said the four teams will battle, because they all will have a championship makeup...Fulwiley in the backcourt at LSU is no different than Janiah Barker in the frontcourt at Tennessee.
Barker has two seasons of production that is close to what Fulwiley accomplished at SC.
Barker at UCLA played on a winning team last season for the first time in her college career which seemed to really help her mature as a player.
I can’t speak on Williams but I do know ESPN portal rankings have her ranked #8 and Barker #7.
If anyone thinks LSU freshman class puts them over the top then Tennessee freshman class puts them over the top.
Will come down to what team executes best that day when the teams meet.
I hope they don't get Serah Williams as well...that's too scary...although I think their freshman class with those highly profiled guards is going to put them over the top...having said that, our LadyVols, LSU, Texas, and SC, are going to battle next season ⚔🗡

According to a article on ESPN, Serah Williams was an addition to LSU. I am not sure if that is true but it is what was written. I think where our improved speed will show up in that situation will be on the second pass. Not being able to pick off the pass out of the trap was a liability. If we can get players with the speed to do that which we have then the press become lethal.
I expect passing out of the double team trap to be much harder this time even for the top teams.I think where our improved speed will show up in that situation will be on the second pass.
If the long downcourt pass is to the corner, one of our quicker bigs will be closing in on her along the baseline from the basket, fast enough to negate the 3-point attempt from the corner. That will force the second pass to the (what was last season wide open) player under the basket.
I think next season, in every platoon we'll have enough speed to get into position from half court to intercept or breakup that second pass. Often last season that responsibility fell on Tess. IIRC, on a few occasions Alyssa and Samara got back in time to breakup or steal that second pass.
Dang, I'm already feeling impatient to see this team playing together!
Or, for the coaches, will this become a roster that allows them to leap over rotations and permutations, and cook up matchup combinations that they can use to force other teams out of their preferred substitution pattern? So with 15 players and no injuries, does Kim field 3 full rotations?
Do you think we add one more and who?Got to stop believing all the paywall rumors w/ NIL.
One site claim Barker got 500k from Tennessee. Now Tennessee could pay 500k, I keep telling folks nobody has more NIL money than Tennessee.
Honestly, after watching Barker highlights since the commitment I would give her that amount if necessary. I just don’t think that’s what players are demanding from teams in the portal. The numbers are inflated.
Either way, Barker is the best talent that has entered the portal the last two seasons.
She was the #3 player out of HS for a reason.
Last portal player this talented was Lauren Betts who was #1 in the same 2022 class.
If the defensive side of the ball improves this year, and I believe it will, it is going to be very hard for anyone to beat Tennessee. I would love to add that experienced consistent 36-38% three point shooter/sniper to this roster to open up the paint and driving lanes for the exceptional athletes on this team, but I have to believe that each player we have will improve in that area and fill that gap if we don't.SEC is a tough league at least five of the top ten will be right here in the SEC. Not afraid of anybody were far stronger than last season. When you add a top 1-2 high school class and top ten portal class and have your top returning players back you should be ready and I think we are.
Wouldn't that be a great stat to have access to... by conference, by trio, and by individual ref!I agree. But we need less breaks in play by refs. They hurt us on several occasions. Not just the fouls called, but just the overall stoppage of play.
Yep, that'll do it...@Deebowbear
To expand on the post earlier, when you add the talent Tennessee has from the portal and HS recruiting class with a strong core based on the reactions from the staff you can sense they have put together a team capable of winning a championship.
A roster featuring 7 McDonald’s All Americans, 9 Top 30 players, and 13 Top 70 players.
That seals the deal
