I know that but just because she’s on the team now doesn’t mean the staff is going to give her a scholarship. She will not be on the team if that rule takes place next year, you can’t give a scholarship to a non P5 player. That’s why are rosters haven’t been competitive in the past bc Kellie gave players who aren’t Power5 players a scholarship.
That's ridiculous. You must never have been on a team before else you'd know that a teammate like Edie is invaluable and very much worth awarding a late-career scholarship to. NO TEAM with 15 members is going to be stacked with every player being capable of being in the starting lineup against most teams. There are always, in every program, dedicated end-of-bench players who so often represent the very heart of a team, going into practice day in and day out unselfishly giving their all to make their active teammates better.

And if you watch the bench on those rare times Edie gets into a game and scores, you'll see by the reactions of her teammates and staff how much she means to them all. Yes, she deserves a full scholarship and I hope she gets one. It's so much bigger than what you appear to understand.

We have 14 rostered scholarships now, 13 players available due to Wynn’s injury. Kellie generally had a roster of 13 or 14. Using that 15th slot for Edie won’t hairlip the Pope.

You lost a little traction within the forum here lately having had your latest attempt to stir 💩 thread deleted. How about offering opinions as opposed to drawing lines in the sand. Although it may not always seem like it, we really try to get along around here. 🤙🏼
What are you talking about?!

What does your statement have to do with Edie if she was good they would have been put her on scholarship when Kellie was the coach.

I’m not stirring anything you sound dumb. There is a reason why she isn’t on scholarship….she could’ve been on scholarship as the 15th player. If they didn’t do it before why would they now..use common sense

A scholarship isn’t about a crowd reaction.

She could’ve been put on scholarship 2 yrs ago we had the scholarships available if she was deserving.

You guys don’t know how athletics work at the P5 and it shows.

Is it possible she adds value to the team in ways other than on the court playing time? Barnes always has a number of walk ons. Sorry if that sounds dumb to you.

Oh good. Go get her, TN!!!

Hmm. The stat sheet says Williams plays about 30-32 minutes a game and takes 15 shots per game. I don't think we have anyone who averages 30 minutes per game, and aside from Cooper, no one else on Tennessee's squad takes more than 10 shots a game. This would be a great litmus test for the "will proven players in the transfer portal consider playing in Caldwell's system." If she's not interested, it wouldn't necessarily reflect on the system - but if she did show interest, it might suggest the system isn't the turn-off some have speculated it to be.

Anyway. No reason to think one way or another. Just an interesting test case if Tennessee can get involved.

That is one post player we need here. She would be taking Jill's place and she is a better overall player. If were interested in a post player probably won't do better than her. Needs to see if she is interested in Tennessee she is quick, runs the court, good defender and can score down low.

It's all about needing to do something. I am sure she has to try and take that many shots with Wisconsin not many good shooters on that team. She is their best player. Probably would drop six or seven minutes here some players wouldn't mind that and I am sure to get her here it is going to take a NIl deal. So that would supercede most anything else. Someone is going to get her and I promise their willing to give a good Nil deal. Tennessee would have to beat any deal if we contacted her. She does fit exactly what Coach Kim would be looking for in a post player. We'll see how aware they are cause they should at least contact and show interest.

Not sure who needs to hear this but Tennessee hasn’t loss any player they wanted due to NIL. That was long used as an excuse in recent years.
That rumor has been debunked in year 1 under Coach Caldwell.
If there’s mutual interest then at the very least she will visit Knoxville in the near future.
This staff has proven they can recruit with any program that does without saying.
Everything comes down to fit with the LV talented roster for 2025-2026.

She is interested in TN according to sources.. but sources also say that she is lazy.

“Caution” you know right now LV fans somewhere on the internet are saying this is the player we “need”.
Look I’m more intrigued and excited for the portal additions as anyone else but I can’t fathom how this much attention is being given to players with one or two years of eligibility when for 4 to 5 years straight that was seen an issue to getting the program back to National Title contenders
Now as far as this player, I see pros and cons. Some folks see 6’5 and immediately believe this should be a player who’s the top post on our team. I still say that will be Lazaria Spearman and Alyssa Latham possibly in year 2 of CKC system. I would take Williams as competition and depth to earn a spot in the Top 10 rotation. By chance if Williams comes here and in the offseason performs well enough to earn a starting position that means we’re better as a team. It’s certainly not a guarantee based on what I’ve seen from footage but with Latham, Spearman, and possibly Williams as one of the portal additions the LVs would be formidable in the post.

That the LVs had not been NIL competitive is bit more than a rumor and it simply can't be debunked by CKC's recruiting success since she is the benefactor of a new NIL system that has just been put in place.

Coaching still makes a difference in recruiting but you still have to be competitive in the NIL market, particularly when it comes to high demand recruits.

I disagree. Prospects, college coaches, HS basketball analysts, handlers, and their families put a lot of that stuff out there on social media as a recruiting tool just to make Tennessee look bad because they knew people would believe that kind of stuff.
I heard something interesting when Zia Cooke told the Pauldo twins months before they committed to Tennessee when they sought her out for advice pertaining to NIL and recruiting; she simply said don’t go to a school where coaches promise you anything. Zia Cooke told the twins Coach Staley didn’t promise her anything and that’s why she went to SC. I can see how many of these players outside of one or two that Tennessee supposedly loss out on due to NIL were promised deals they haven’t ever seen.
Coach Caldwell, Coach Lazo, and Coach Tubner signed 5 HS players in the Top 50 including 3 McDAAs seven months on the job without dangling a bag of money no matter what anyone believes.
So again, much of the rumor has been debunked if not proven to be as Zia Cooke told the twins, “ false promises to get you to commit”.

We will probably be competing with Lower Carolina and UConn for her services. Don’t know how much of her decision to transfer is based on her loyalty to recently fired/resigned coach Moseley, but she was on the UConn staff for many years.
