Just watched film on Williams playing USC. She is an absolute beast. She can face up and play with back to the basket. Not much of a 3pt threat. She can fit but not sure because Kim would have to tweek her system a bit. I think she'll end up at UCONN or MarylandI haven't seen her film, but if we just have only 1 or 2 scholarships to give to transfers, we have to aim for the top power 4 conference prospects who can be a big who is a defensive stopper as well as a top scorer. Serah Williams sure fits the bill! We can't be just built for the press defense, as much as the time we are actually in half-court defense where size underneath the goal matters! I hope we can get a couple like this one. Then, the sky is the limit.
I don't know if I'm disagreeing with your statement, or if I'm just putting a fine point on it:I haven't seen her film, but if we just have only 1 or 2 scholarships to give to transfers, we have to aim for the top power 4 conference prospects who can be a big who is a defensive stopper as well as a top scorer. In a system that is predicated on achieving more possessions than the opponent each game, you ideally never want to have to put a player on the court who negates/hinders/disrupts any of your ways of achieving more possessions.
No matter how good a player might be in half court defensive situations, if she enables the opponent to break the press more easily, you're giving up possessions to have her out there.
I think every recruiting choice will be searching first for the players best at creating more possessions within the system, and then, who is also effective in half court offense and defense. But we've now seen what compromising the system (even if necessarily, due to circumstances) yields.
I think we will find there are plenty of players out there who have those skill sets and are dying to play where they can put them all on display--and that includes some bigs, who would hate to play in a system that undervalues their speed and only wants to post them up with their back to the basket.
I think we're going to have our choices of which players we take, and won't have to "settle" for a player who doesn't really fit.
I think it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Yes, a slower big that could not help on the press is not who we need. However, we can't have all five players always be on the press, as we need someone guarding the opponent's goal, preferably a player who could alter shots when the other team breaks the press and tries to quickly score before we get fully into the half-court defense. Also, don't forget that rebounding better than the other team also gets you extra possessions, something we struggled with some teams that had a dominant inside player. In fact, some of the better SEC teams matched or exceeded us in offensive rebounds if my memory is correct. We will already ave a couple of platoons of players who should be great in the press. If that is the only type of player that CKC feels that she needs, I doubt if she would have recruited Lauren Hurst. All this said, I haven't Serah play nor do I know if there is mutual interest. I just hope we get a big that plays well with our speedsters but gives us an extra dimension on offense and defense. If not Serah, let's find at least one.I don't know if I'm disagreeing with your statement, or if I'm just putting a fine point on it:

Your statement regarding not losing any player due to limited NIL in previous years is really a flight of fantasy. Up until this year the LV NIL bank was funded by tee shirts and bake sales. Not sure who needs to hear this but Tennessee hasn’t loss any player they wanted due to NIL. That was long used as an excuse in recent years.
That rumor has been debunked in year 1 under Coach Caldwell.
If there’s mutual interest then at the very least she will visit Knoxville in the near future.
This staff has proven they can recruit with any program that does without saying.
Everything comes down to fit with the LV talented roster for 2025-2026.

Don’t get me wrong, I am glad CKC has more resources but please curb your hyperbole to a relevant range.
Don't know about the scholarship part, but what I understand is that the roster limit is 15. I don't know if they can enforce that seems like a strange rule to me. I can understand the 15 scholarship limit has been around for a while. 13 for the men. I just don't undertand how they can limit roster size guess we'll find out if they can do it. They try a lot of things some they can enforce and others they can't.Counting against the roster, absolutely. Guaranteed a scholarship? I wonder. Not sure the ncaa can unilaterally require everyone of the roster be on scholarship.
They had some really good interior play. Guards and coaching must have been atrocious because they had a terrible season.
I am interested to see after this year, how the recruiting goes for HS recruits.Possibly but it couldn’t be all coaching either. It reminds me of our portal additions that came here averaging double figures. It takes awhile for the players to adjust and learn how to win at a high level but with usually only one or two years of eligibility remaining that’s not always accomplished.
That’s why it was not only an amazing accomplishment but programming altering for Coach Caldwell to land a great HS recruiting class in less than a year to build a foundation while using the portal to build a competitive team in year 1.
GBO ‘solid’!

I know she signed 5 this year but those girls committed before the season really got started.
I wonder if the subbing every 40 seconds will turn recruits off. Future recruits will have seen this system for a full year so they will be able to determine if their play fits the system.
I think it’s going to go down…: Big O is a piece that Kim really needed//: and she’s going to go to another SEC school like Texas. Harpring is a must get… if we lose out we j her then it’s a bad class even if we get O Edwqrds.
