Civil is an energizer bunny. That player impresses me so much can't wait for her to get here. Her team got off to a slow start in that title game were down 24 to 9 after the first quarter ended up winning by 10. I really think she will make an immediate impact as a freshman.Coach Caldwell and recruiters Lazo/Tubner are going to focus on the area which CKC stated following the early HS signing period which is a few spots (2) left to fill in terms of defense, size, and rebounding.
That was before the recent dominance of the High School commits leading their schools to State Titles with a chance to compete for a National Title. It was also prior to the emergence of Kaniya Boyd who was outstanding in SEC play.
CKC isn’t wasting a scholarship on a shooting specialist if they lack versatility or ball dominant offensive players who bring no value on the defensive end.
Those players won’t be able to get on the court in positions where elite talent is coming in at this rate from the HS class.
Prawl and Civil as the roster projects with the returnees would be the Lady Vols 4th or 5th best defensive players along with Cooper, Latham, and Boyd. The Pauldo twins will also be in the mix as the LVs top defensive stoppers.
For as good as Kaiya Wynn looked as a junior defensively she wasn’t as highly skilled as Prawl and Civil out of HS on the defensive end. The quickness, intangibles, and length at 6’0 Civil and 6’2 Prawl that each player possesses will make the LVs a defensive nightmare on the perimeter.
I’ve seen a few players enter the portal that will likely have mutual interest in Tennessee. CKC will be very selective.
