2025 Transfer Portal

Rest of story.
And more fuel LSU and South Carolina. rivalry.

This guy is known for making up stuff for views he has no credible sources nor can he name more than 10 women’s basketball players literally. I wouldn’t take anything he says as factual especially from the YouTube community that knows how ridiculous he gets lol

I’ve heard OU and LSU are most likely for her. She has a lot of potential but hasn’t reached it yet for some reason. Very athletic kid but three years under Vic and minimal improvement is a red flag for me. He develops players like nobody else, he took a bunch of 3 stars and Victoria Vivians to the national championship.

If he can’t get it out of a player I’d be afraid to try haha

She's a tweener. Wants to be a wing player; but, doesn't really have the handles or shooting for that. She was moved from bench player to starter at power forward after Aaliyah Moore was injured in January; and, she played very well at that spot.

Question: if the 5th year for players is approved next year, could the newly graduated 25' players come back for the 26' - 27' season?

The parameters will be disclosed with the formal announcement of 5th year .Many pundits have opined that no one from this graduating class will be eligible and it will be for only future classes and that one reason for the delay of the formal announcement .
if that turns out to be the case then 2026 could be another really solid roster for Tennessee.

Spearman
Robertson
Wolfenbarger
Barker
Whitehorn could all return

Boyd
Cooper
Mia Pauldo
Mya Pauldo
Prawl
Civil
Latham
Hurst

are the current returnees.

Wynn could also return.

I don't expect all would return, but if they did then you only have 1 scholarships to give.

And you use it on Oliviyah Edwards and go win a national championship 🤣

Yes I think we want more than just her so a couple of players would have to move on.
Gosh that would be a tough convo to have because looking at that roster thats outstanding but you right we have to keep building thru highschool recruiting and save spots for portal additions some would have to move on

My hope is we don’t have eight or nine new players on each new roster moving forward. That seems counter to “building” a roster. Getting the right players is critical.

Replacing players that finish their eligibility or are drafted is the top priority. Beyond that, I hope by spreading the floor time we can avoid transfers out. Unfortunately, there will be missed evaluations. I know there is a long list of boxes to check during the vetting process.

If the NCAA doesn’t let the 2025 class come back they are setting themselves up for a lawsuit, They let the 2020-21 get an additional

year to play. I hope every athlete that wants to return files a lawsuit.

The NCAA give freshman sophomores juniors seniors all four classes that year the NCAA tournament was cancelled a extra year .
Nobody who played four seasons and had chance to advance in the NCAA tournament if there team made the tournament got a fifth year.

What would the grounds be for a lawsuit? Giving a blanket waiver to the players that competed in the 2021 season and then having a rule change in the future does not give players in the middle years grounds for a lawsuit.

Changing the speed limit on a road from 55 to 65 does not give everybody who is ticketed for speeding the past year grounds to file a suit.

While I agree with DeerPark, the difficulty in determining speed limits is in flux for junior college students years of eligibility after the ruling re the Vanderbilt QB allowing him another year.

Then players in countries who graduate from their four year college and come to the US. Mississippi State based on their write-up on Odot stated it require five applications before she was admitted to the US or Mississippi State?? know at SC and NIL support.

And with a smile remembering Pearl who failed in recruiting because he took a player to his house illegally and that player turned him in and he misrepresented the situation to the NCAA. and he paid a big fine for speeding! that darn speed limit and the consequences seem to be changing each year

What about the sacrosanct depriving them the opportunity to earn NIL. Just find the right judge in the right district.

Ayla McDowell who will be an incoming freshman at South Carolina this fall already has WNBA experience. She is on the Brazilian National team which played against the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever. Ayla is from Houston, Texas but because her mother is Brazilian and a former member of the national team Ayla is allowed to play for them.

After the game with the Fever Ayla had this to say, "I was like, 'Oh, wow. Caitlin Clark is guarding me. That's crazy."

Thee athletes that came in school year 2020-21 got a extra year and had a chance to play in NCAA tournament so the athletes that finished up this school year 2025 should get extra year if the 5 year passes. If they don’t and it begins 25-26 they would be the only class that doesn’t get 5 years.

Difficult to see where the coaches would go for another three point shooter after Phelia to Syracuse. Iyana Moore is 35 percent and is along with Laniah Randle the two best players left in the transfer portal. Randle is not a three point shooter. Still might be an International player, Grad Transfer, or Juco they could get, but right now I don't see it happening.

Could see MIa and Mya Pauldo, Robertson, Prawl, and Hurst being the five to count on for the three point shooting. I know Barker, Spearman, and Latham, can step out and make a few at around 30 to 34 percent. Wolfenbarger always proclaimed to be a three shooter not showing it in the stats.

I do see us doing as well as last season as think the Pauldo twins can match what Spear and Spencer gave us from the three. Roberston shot 33 percent Darby 34 percent so that looks the same. Prawl and Hurst are two players that could surprise from three with Prawl around 35 and Hurst reported to be 40 in High School. Both Mia and Mya Pauldo made over 40 percent in high school would be awesome if they can keep that at 35 or higher in the big league.

Spencer made a lot of big plays for us last season. We're going to plug some excellent talent into the point guard position but we will miss her experience.

The shooters aren’t coming, we just have to go with what we have and hope for the best.

Really don't have to take as many threes this season. That inside game is a lot stronger and far more players that can get to the basket and hit the mid range. Still I can't see where we'll be worse from three point range Spear was the only one late that really was consistent with make a good percentage. Spencer started really strong, but reverted back to low 30's down the stretch of SEC play.

The offense calls for 3’s, do you think Caldwell will change the system to adjust, because I doubt it?

I think some of it was the personnell we had not enough inside players. Not enough drivers. We will still take thirty need to make 10 we didn't do that several games last season or we would've won more games.
