2020 Primaries

Except private health care?

You don't need private health care though, you need health care.

Why do we pay 2x per person with our private system than other nations and still not cover everyone? Still haven't gotten an answer on that.

Literally you are making my point. People don't get rid of the programs because they need them in the first place.

Why do people vote for single payer? Cause they don't have healthcare that works for them now.

So even if they don't like it, they don't get rid of it. They just edit it to something they do like.

Eliminating it without something in plan to replace it (like Trump tried to do with Obamacare) never works.

Neither does financially strapping everyone else. Guess what? I don’t care about your education or your healthcare. I care about mine and my family’s and I work to provide it. If the taxes I already pay don’t help supply the safety nets needed oh well. You can always go to work or maybe even get 2 jobs. If that means you can’t go to school for 6-8 years I’m ok with that.

Yes but see we live in a society. So you do that with enough people who can't afford healthcare and education and we elect someone that will increase taxes and then we get those programs.

It's funny in a way. The Republicans move to the extreme right created the perfect storm for Sanders ideas to become so popular.

We were talking about the promise to forgive student loan debt. There are only two options to do that, stick the taxpayers with the bill or the .gov defaults on the loans.

The banks shouldn’t have to write off a penny since these are .gov guaranteed loans.
I just gave you more than two options. It will not be the either or the right will try to trumpet.
Plus, banks can handle it. They've been helped out before, time to pay it back.

don't confuse health care with paying for health care

we pay more because our health care is more expensive. there's a laundry list of reasons why our health care is more expensive. most of it is unrelated to how we pay for it (insurance)

Wrong, they make the loan because the .gov backs them. Without the .gov guaranteeing them the banks would not be loaning the money.
LOL.......They made the loans because they thought it was guaranteed risk free profit.

Sanders popularity rises from worthless people who don’t want to pay or be responsible for anything.

You didn’t answer the question.

We have Pell grants for low income people.

Depends if you work 40 hours a week than the government should ensure that you earn enough to eat.

If you can't work, the government should provide you with ample supplement until you can.

Actually I quite clearly said I'd be in favor of the Medicare for All Premium Tax and increased tax for Education despite the fact I wouldn't benefit in time.

But to clarify yes you are definitely the extremist.

Listening to you and Hog with your "Hospitals should refuse people who can't pay" and "the Republican supemajority gov" was too liberal with the TN Promise.

The pay to go to med school and offer your services for free or donations.

Most won't admit they plan to raise taxes on the middle class, let alone how much they'd have to raise them so we can "get" those programs

Oh gosh it is definitely related. We have the most complicated system in the world of insurers. Literally we employ an entire sector because of how confusing our insurance system is. That adds tons of unnecessary costs.

Then we can't negotiate drug prices (thanks Republicans).

We don't insure everyone so the uninsured raise costs on everyone when they have to receive care in emergency situations.

Laundry list of reasons? Correct.
Insurance isn't a problem. Incorrect.

None of your options cover wiping out the debt.

How about VA Home Loans?

The government should ensure a certain amount of earnings?

Any job in which you work 40 hours should be compensated with a wage that allows you to feed your family, receive healthcare, and achieve an education.

Otherwise why work?

Personally, I wouldn't work a 7.25 job with no healthcare. Not worth it.

See the difference between you all and me is that I say jobs should be worth something.

You say I don't care if jobs suck or if you work them, you aren't entitled to anything for working.

Again we have established that you are an extremist. I don't need more evidence.
Why is he an extremist? Why can’t people ask questions as to why the food stamp budget increased by over 400% between 2002 and 2017? Are people Going to be starving in the streets if the snap budget was rolled back to 2002 levels?
