Oh gosh it is definitely related. We have the most complicated system in the world of insurers. Literally we employ an entire sector because of how confusing our insurance system is. That adds tons of unnecessary costs.
Then we can't negotiate drug prices (thanks Republicans).
We don't insure everyone so the uninsured raise costs on everyone when they have to receive care in emergency situations.
Laundry list of reasons? Correct.
Insurance isn't a problem. Incorrect.
Depends if you work 40 hours a week than the government should ensure that you earn enough to eat.
If you can't work, the government should provide you with ample supplement until you can.
Why is he an extremist? Why can’t people ask questions as to why the food stamp budget increased by over 400% between 2002 and 2017? Are people Going to be starving in the streets if the snap budget was rolled back to 2002 levels?
A majority of those that will vote for single payor either think that they dont need quality healthcare, know they won't have to pay for it or are simply ignorant.Literally you are making my point. People don't get rid of the programs because they need them in the first place.
Why do people vote for single payer? Cause they don't have healthcare that works for them now.
So even if they don't like it, they don't get rid of it. They just edit it to something they do like.
Eliminating it without something in plan to replace it (like Trump tried to do with Obamacare) never works.
Any job in which you work 40 hours should be compensated with a wage that allows you to feed your family, receive healthcare, and achieve an education.
Otherwise why work?
Personally, I wouldn't work a 7.25 job with no healthcare. Not worth it.
See the difference between you all and me is that I say jobs should be worth something.
You say I don't care if jobs suck or if you work them, you aren't entitled to anything for working.
The only grown adults making minimum wage for more than three months are really sh*tty employees. Why should said sh*tty employees be guaranteed a wage that provides them with enough to pay for food, healthcare, and rent? If you want to be guaranteed those things, don’t be a sh*tty employee. It’s really not a difficult concept.Any job in which you work 40 hours should be compensated with a wage that allows you to feed your family, receive healthcare, and achieve an education.

Since when does a tax cut cost anything. That is the most ignorant logic ever. You are truly a LIV.Trump Tax Cut costs 230 billion a year.
Our Military Budget is 600 billion more than the next country.
Food Stamps cost 60 Billion a year.
If food stamp issues are your jumping off point then you are an extremist.

Yes but see we live in a society. So you do that with enough people who can't afford healthcare and education and we elect someone that will increase taxes and then we get those programs.
It's funny in a way. The Republicans move to the extreme right created the perfect storm for Sanders ideas to become so popular.
so much to unpack here.
let's start with the "uninsured raise costs via the ER". Research actually shows the heaviest users of the ER for non emergency reasons is Medicaid users. Now what type of insurance is Medicaid; hmmm, could it be government? Users of private insurance are the lowest users of the ER for non emergency HC.
many countries (including some of the most efficient) use a mix of public and private insurance (like us) or exclusively private insurance (Switzerland). The myth of universal coverage is that it is public coverage. That simply isn't true. Private HC insurance is used throughout the industrialized world. The single payer fully government model is not the norm. Again people conflate universal coverage with government coverage. It's simply not the case.

Why are private users the least? Because they can't afford to go! Most private insurance has too high of deductibles to even use!
Single Payer brings down costs because literally the government is the only payer. It can tell the medical companies what they can charge.
And FWIW if I need to compromise down the road with a public option, that's still way better than our system and if we get a fair one, it will crush most of the private insurers anyway because so many people will switch.
Force them to actually compete fairly.
The only things in life that you are entitled to are the things you earn, nothing else.
There again, ignorance. This country is founded on personal liberty, not a society. Sounds like you need to move.Yes but see we live in a society.
