Dude Bruin. You have better bait than this
The 2 with NFL contracts. The ones that are plenty good enough to get you better than 42nd in pass efficiency. The ones that JG overthrew all year long.
He definitely has had one hell of a length of rope.........to hang himself with. I really liked the kid when he first got here and he’s definitely earned some respect for being tough as nails AND being supportive of all the others on the roster and potentially being recruited to the roster...but surely the staff knows his limits and I expect them to make the best decision for the team.True, but you still have his diehard supporters. The worst UT QB ever to get this much playing time.
This is such ignorant commentary. Teams win football games in spite of poor QB play all the time. Guarantano was 7-16 for 55 yds, and yet we still were one botched decision on his part away from being down one score. Bama wasn't playing well, and we would have had all the momentum with 7 minutes to play, and nothing to lose. All pressure on Bama. You guys that can’t stand the thought of JG taking another snap can’t have it both ways
you can’t say he sucks and can’t lead this program to any success
AND In the next breath say well if he doesn’t go rouge and run a QB he was going to lead us to a 2 TD 4th qt comeback win at the number 1 team in the lands home stadium
Kind of silly to suggest both.
Almost like talking out of both sides of ones mouth

So, to definitively say we had no chance to win that is completely foolish. And to insinuate that teams can't win games in spite of their QB is equally foolish.
I must have missed the part where I said we were going to win the game. I did emphatically contest your claim that we had no chance to win, your assertion that the refs were in on the fix, and the idea that teams can't win games when their QB plays poorly, but I never claimed that we going to win the game, as if it were a foregone conclusion. And to say we were going to win the game is way more foolish
Look, we get it..you are opinionated, you're thick headed, you don't like change, and you can't admit when you are wrong. So let me spell it out for you. You think Kent St. has better WRs than us?...much better pass efficiency rating than JG. What about Charlotte? Louisiana Lafayette? Iowa St, Ohio, Troy, Ball St., LA Tech, Fl Atlantic, UAB, Eastern Michigan, Arkansas St.? All of their QB's had better pass efficiency than JG. Think any of their WRs were in the running for leading the entire league for WR with broken tackles? How many of these teams had WRs going to the NFL this year?...0. But hey, don't let real facts get in the way of a good bromance. Also the ones that failed to get separation on a regular basis and dropped passes that hit them in the numbers. The WRs did him little favors. But hey don’t let facts get in the way of your bash fest.
There's always so much talked about what he has been through, as if he's been subjected to a bunch of abuse. A large part of his suffering is due to his ineptitude in handling the job at hand.I'd be over the freakin moon if JG came out and lead us to 10 wins and threw for 4000 yards. The kid deserves a season like that after all he's been through.
That said, as a 5th year senior, there is very little reason to expect that. Yes, players improve, and he likely will, but usually those big jumps are between years 2 and 3. By year 5, he's a bit of a known commodity.
I do think he will be better than last year with a second year with Chaney, but his issue isn't physical talent -- he has that in spades. His issues are psychological. He doubts himself and doesnt throw with any confidence or anticipation. That's the part that I just do not think gets fixed and why I dont believe he accomplishes much this year.
The guy is a miserable bastard, running his mouth about a top ten all time receiver for Tennessee and wants to bring up drops but not how Juan and Calloway consistently brought down 50/50 balls for him. Just watch the Auburn game two years ago. How many times did the receivers make an amazing play?Look, we get it..you are opinionated, you're thick headed, you don't like change, and you can't admit when you are wrong. QBRs are not adjusted for competition. G5 teams have lesser help, but also lesser competition. All is relative.Look, we get it..you are opinionated, you're thick headed, you don't like change, and you can't admit when you are wrong. So let me spell it out for you. You have to be an utter moron (correct usage here for brubear, he is never an udder moran) to think JG is better than Andy Kelly...I’m not a NeverJGer, but I’m not painting fiction as fact to deflect from him either. I watched the guy play for Rhea County and for the Vols. There were moments of frustration of course, but Kelly was a successful Vols QB...FACT!
The Vandy and Indiana games absolutely destroyed any faith I had left..which admittedly wasn't very much...that JG could be a decent starting QB.He’s bad but can be better. He’s shown flashes in the AU and KY (2019) games. Near flawless performances. I think he has PTSD/anxiety on the field from how much he’s been hit.

He just does not have it in him. His wiring is faulty, and he will always have those games. Games we should win extremely easily, but he singlehandedly handicaps us.
. I did emphatically contest your claim that we had no chance .
The officials were never going to let us win that game.well I didn’t make that claim my man. So perhaps you might want to read better
I stated my opinion that I didn’t think we were going to win the game. Sure we had a chance but as I said I don’t think we were going to be able to finish the comeback for a number of reasons.
Number 1 I don’t think as a team we were ready to finish a game like that Against a great team on the road and number 2 there would have been a Bama biased call to make sure that didn’t happen if needed.
I’d say we had a 1 in 5 shot at winning the game if we had scored a TD there instead of the fiasco we saw
