His stats are solid. His play has been less than that.

You are welcome to check the stats of other SEC QBs and I am certain you will find JG is a guy that has solid stats. Middle of the pack to top half of the league kind of numbers. Much better than a number of QBs in the league

Also the ones that failed to get separation on a regular basis and dropped passes that hit them in the numbers. The WRs did him little favors. But hey don’t let facts get in the way of your bash fest.

He definitely has had one hell of a length of rope.........to hang himself with. I really liked the kid when he first got here and he’s definitely earned some respect for being tough as nails AND being supportive of all the others on the roster and potentially being recruited to the roster...but surely the staff knows his limits and I expect them to make the best decision for the team.

I think if JT transfers here that JG will have his best season. JG hasn’t been pushed for 2 years and from an organizational perspective, that’s death. Perhaps Bailey is that dude and JT is meaningless, but if not, you want JT so one of the two becomes elite. I prefer this scenario because playing a freshman QB in the SEC is typically awful.

This is such ignorant commentary. Teams win football games in spite of poor QB play all the time. Guarantano was 7-16 for 55 yds, and yet we still were one botched decision on his part away from being down one score. Bama wasn't playing well, and we would have had all the momentum with 7 minutes to play, and nothing to lose. All pressure on Bama.

So, to definitively say we had no chance to win that is completely foolish. And to insinuate that teams can't win games in spite of their QB is equally foolish.

look the original topic was labeling games JG either won or lost. I think QB play decided the BYU and Kentucky games. I don’t think the Bama games outcome was decided by the QB.

I must have missed the part where I said we were going to win the game. I did emphatically contest your claim that we had no chance to win, your assertion that the refs were in on the fix, and the idea that teams can't win games when their QB plays poorly, but I never claimed that we going to win the game, as if it were a foregone conclusion.

You're grasping at straws and moving the goalposts with each post. Just stop.

You think Kent St. has better WRs than us?...much better pass efficiency rating than JG. What about Charlotte? Louisiana Lafayette? Iowa St, Ohio, Troy, Ball St., LA Tech, Fl Atlantic, UAB, Eastern Michigan, Arkansas St.? All of their QB's had better pass efficiency than JG. Think any of their WRs were in the running for leading the entire league for WR with broken tackles? How many of these teams had WRs going to the NFL this year?...0. But hey, don't let real facts get in the way of a good bromance.

That said, as a 5th year senior, there is very little reason to expect that. Yes, players improve, and he likely will, but usually those big jumps are between years 2 and 3. By year 5, he's a bit of a known commodity.

I do think he will be better than last year with a second year with Chaney, but his issue isn't physical talent -- he has that in spades. His issues are psychological. He doubts himself and doesnt throw with any confidence or anticipation. That's the part that I just do not think gets fixed and why I dont believe he accomplishes much this year.

There's always so much talked about what he has been through, as if he's been subjected to a bunch of abuse. A large part of his suffering is due to his ineptitude in handling the job at hand.

The guy is a miserable bastard, running his mouth about a top ten all time receiver for Tennessee and wants to bring up drops but not how Juan and Calloway consistently brought down 50/50 balls for him. Just watch the Auburn game two years ago. How many times did the receivers make an amazing play?

QBRs are not adjusted for competition. G5 teams have lesser help, but also lesser competition. All is relative.

The Vandy and Indiana games absolutely destroyed any faith I had left..which admittedly wasn't very much...that JG could be a decent starting QB.

He just does not have it in him. His wiring is faulty, and he will always have those games. Games we should win extremely easily, but he singlehandedly handicaps us.

Great kid the game just has never slowed down for him.
Cannot throw a screen.
Passes are always just a bit off.
Throws too hard , no touch.
Never puts up big yds in a game . This includes the cupcakes.
Still stares down receivers.
Seems frozen by the fear of making a mistake.
Not enough gunslinger (You can have too much ).

well I didn’t make that claim my man. So perhaps you might want to read better

I stated my opinion that I didn’t think we were going to win the game. Sure we had a chance but as I said I don’t think we were going to be able to finish the comeback for a number of reasons.

Number 1 I don’t think as a team we were ready to finish a game like that Against a great team on the road and number 2 there would have been a Bama biased call to make sure that didn’t happen if needed.

I’d say we had a 1 in 5 shot at winning the game if we had scored a TD there instead of the fiasco we saw
