The officials were never going to let us win that game.
Yep. Say that a little louder for @cncchris33 to hear it.
In all seriousness it was already clear in that game that something fishy was going on.

Fun speculation, but no tangible proof of anything. Just sour grapes moaning from our fanbase, once again. One thing is certain, that single play took away any necessity for the officials needing to work to hand Bama the game. JG did it all on his own in a matter of 15 seconds.Yep. Say that a little louder for @cncchris33 to hear it.

well I didn’t make that claim my man. So perhaps you might want to read better
I stated my opinion that I didn’t think we were going to win the game. Sure we had a chance but as I said I don’t think we were going to be able to finish the comeback for a number of reasons.
Number 1 I don’t think as a team we were ready to finish a game like that Against a great team on the road and number 2 there would have been a Bama biased call to make sure that didn’t happen if needed.
I’d say we had a 1 in 5 shot at winning the game if we had scored a TD there instead of the fiasco we saw
Sorry but we weren’t winning that game anyway

My bad, I guess we have an entirely different interpretation of this direct quote...
I see no qualifier in there. There is no, "we weren't likely to win", no, "it was doubtful"...nope, you went directly with, "we weren't winning that game anyway". So, the implication in that sentence is that you believed we couldn't win. Maybe it isn't what you intended to say, but it is what you said, directly or indirectly.
Who said Cade is going to be eligible?@JAllen18 says JTD to UT soon. What else can you share sir? He not worried about the immediate eligibility transfer thing getting passed? Does he have something else that could make him start immediately like Cade?
I'm fine with it being your opinion, but just don't state it as a fact. That is my only issue, and why I originally stated that it was a terrible take, opinion or not. It’s an opinion my man.
Imo there was no chance we winning that game after the rouge sneak.
Imo There was a small chance we win if we cut it to 7. 1/5 type chance
Imo we weren’t going to win the game anyway
all things I have said lol
...in your original post, I'd have never taken exception with it. Probably would have agreed with it."Imo There was a small chance we win if we cut it to 7. 1/5 type chance"

And I totally agree that we had, almost mathematically, no shot at winning after the fumble return that swung the game 14 points. I also agree that we had a less than a 50/50 shot at winning had we scored there and been down by 7/8 with 7:00 to play.
If you had said...
...in your original post, I'd have never taken exception with it. Probably would have agreed with it.
Well, this wasn't inadvertent.I came back to see if there was news of JTD, and see this is still going.
I may have inadvertently started this whole debate 30+ pages ago when I said "JG's fumble did not cost us the game."
My only point then was that even after a hypothetical TD, we'd still be down by 9 points, with 7:20 to play, on the road at Alabama, still needing a PAT, a score, and 2-pt conversion just to tie. While holding Alabama scoreless. Whatever "momentum" we had involved just having taken 6+ minutes to go 60 yards for that hypothetical TD. Yes, that play put the game out of reach, but grinding an axe 8 months later about that fumble "costing" the game seems....mathematically desperate.
Win expectancy on the snap: 0.80%. That's right, Bama had a 99.2% chance to win.
Win expectancy if we score there AND we score a 2-pt conversion AND we put Bama back at their 30 with 7 mins to go on the kickoff: 4.3%.
So yeah, JG's fumble cost us ~4% chance to win the game, even with the rosiest of reasonable outcomes after that snap.
I'm not aware of any sports legacy in which someone is made the goat after muffing a 4% chance to win late in the game. That's like turning the ball over down by 4 with 30 seconds left in a basketball game. Nobody remembers that unless they already dislike the player for other reasons.
