Stop hating on this kid because he flipped on us. Now all of a sudden you guys are coming up with things he can't do all because you got a little butt hurt. When he was All Vol some of you guys basically crowned him the next Al Wison. Get a grip people. We will be fine with or without him. Losing one recruit will not kill the program.

It's not smart on either side to trash each other. Cherry has flipped most likely BUT Texas is still taking other visits from other MLB. It would suck to get dumped after you switched on a school.

But LV said coaches don't do that to committed players.

In LVs defense I think his usual spill is if a player takes visits he loses his spot. I believe this is probably on a player to player basis but this seems to be the case here.

I'm not sure what is worse, that LV constantly says the same things to where I know exactly how he would answer something, or that I'm on this site so much that I know that.

butt hurt

you guessed it

another reason he is known as bleeding butch

Al was an RB in HS; mainly TB

Al was a FB in high school. The TB's name was Wesley Barlow (I think...I'm getting old). Al was fast, but that kid could absolutely fly! One of the best high school backfields I have seen. Al got plenty of carries and yards but the other kid was the feature back. Obviously, Al was an unbelievable LB. I think I remember reading something to the effect that Al was knocked down only once his last 2 years on Defense.

I have always thought that the reason we pursued Daniel Brooks so heavily was the fact that the coaches saw the tape of him wearing that same JCM uniform that they had seen Al wear and they thought that he would turn out similarly, thus they didn't recruit P. Willis...and the rest is history. Or maybe I'm just trying to justify missing out on one of the best in-state prospects in the last 25 years (I know he was only a 2*)

"Hook'em," Cherry said. "They stand No 1 for me. My game is physical, and I try to end career's that's what my daddy taught me since little league. The Texas staff and coach Strong I believe want killers like me and ball players. That's why he came to Florida to get some players, but people have to understand he's a black head coach that's the head coach for the Longhorns. He is going to turn that program around, and he did it everywhere he's been. It's no different, everyone knows what he's going to do and that's why people are scared of a player like me because I can make a big impact. Every where coach Strong has been the defense is strong and sets you up for the league not just to win a national championship. He doesn't just fare about football he cares about your school work. He said you making plays speaks for itself, and I need players like you. I am going to make a big impact for my uncle Bobby Cherry, my dad, my mom and family and the people who supported me and for my little city of Frostproof, God and the world. They are number one and Hook'em."

I wonder who would win a spelling bee between Cecil and Jameis Winston...

We skrong! I skrong! The team skrong!

Who in the world wrote that? I mean, I understand quoting Cherry word for word will have grammar mistakes but that is just awful.

"He's a black head coach". Sometimes kids just want to play for a black head coach. There's a comfort level for them

No need to delete. Not racist.

I wish Cecil well. It's more clear now that he wants to play for Strong (a black coach) rather than Texas. If that is his reasoning I have no problem with it. At least it's a meaningful reason and not based on a whim. I hope he does good unless we play Texas while he's there. I don't want him hurting our players.

His tweets at times also...Smh. He's a talented football player, and I wish him well, but this last tweet about ending careers, ... Maybe this was best for us in the long run

So IF a kid came out and said he wanted to play for a white head coach you think people wouldn't have an issue with it.

I think Cecil will do fine for Texas but someone needs to pull him away from twitter. The kid has gone "Simple Jack" at this point.
