'15 LB FL Cecil Cherry (former Vol commit)

I'd say this played out just how the coaches wanted. They get the higher player on their board and Cherry flips on his own. They don't have to turn away a long time commit and get the guy they really want.

And yes I know Kirkland isn't committed yet.

This had me scratching my head too.

Al Wilson and Cecil Cherry are the same height. Never seem to bother Al. Of course Al Wilson is likely much faster than Cecil cherry at this stage. Running back speed versus fullback speed essentially.

I hope for Mr. Cherry's sake that this does not turn out to be like Arkansas for Otha Peters. :salute:

Al was a FB in high school too, but I do agree that he was likely faster than CC.

Well, one thing we can gather from Cecil's twitter confrontations with fans is that he can, in fact, read. That puts him above Floyd Mayweather in my book.

I would have liked to have seen him play for the real UT in the future but he did what he felt was best for him. Best of luck to the young man.

He's said hook em like 8 times in the past 48 hours. I don't have Twitter but I had to go see what the fuss was.

He needs to be removed as a REAL UT commitment. He gone.

Bring on Kirkland. Upgrade!

It's like the more the kid is pro Texas on his twitter the better it makes him feel about his decommitment.

He mad for a guy about to commit to his "dream school".

If our recruits are truly taking shots as him, you have to wonder how he would have fit in anyways.

I think he would have fit in fine. If he's a vol, he's a friend and teammate. Decides he doesn't wanna be a vol, he's the enemy.

Whats odd about it too is usually you see these guys stick up for each other and tell people its their choice and best of luck. This is the first time I have seen actual shots fired in this type situation. Tells you how passionate Jones and Kahlil are about being Vols IMO.

Pretty much agree here. I mean every year there are some recruits that are snippy with each other but generally kids support each other's decisions. I wonder if there is something else behind the scenes but in any case it doesn't matter.

I think Cherry engaging the fans on twitter is kind of immature but he is a kid. Just make the best decision for yourself and your family and move on. You'll have a miserable life if you have to justify your actions to every weirdo on twitter. JMO though.

i didn't realize he was so short and pudgy. I guess that's the difference in a upper body profile pic on recruiting site vs. a pic of him in middle of other recruits on a TX visit. Always thought he was supposed to be a huge swole monster

Lol that's funny he is saying some of our fans show our true colors..? Now he makes a decision about his career based on how fans act or treat him? Ok obviously he is soft as hell. I'd take Kirkland over this soft ass kid. Kirkland is a major upgrade
