Gibson is the No. 1 dual-threat QB.
AUC has subsequently learned Gibson will be in Auburn on March 25-26.
Auburn already has one 2015 QB committed. That would be 4-star prospect Tyler Queen of Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb.
The Tigers would like to add a second QB to the class, and it is believed Gibson is the top target. He's a 5-star recruit and the No. 14 overall prospect in the 247Composite.
Auburn offered Gibson, who is 6-feet-4, 200 pounds, on Jan. 27.
When AUC spoke to Gibson a few weeks ago, he said, "Auburn is a great program, with a great coaching staff."
Gibson watched Auburn closely in 2013, and thinks highly of Tigers quarterback Nick Marshall.
"He's a great QB," Gibson said. "He leads the offense. They also had Tre Mason, who was a great running back. They have a lot of weapons."
Gibson, a U.S. Army All-American, called his interest in Auburn "high."
Him visiting would seem to back that up.
