Though I still prefer Gentry as a prospect, I could see where the staff are coming from on this. They may believe they do have the time to develop him as a QB. Consider this: By 2015, Worley will be gone, but one of either Dobbs or Ferguson will certainly have locked up the starting job. If Dobbs, that's 2 years to develop TG (Dobbs isn't likely to leave school early for the NFL). If Ferg, that's 3 years because of his redshirt season. So the developmental time would be there.

Dobbs could have 3 years as well. IMO IF Worley wins the starting job, Dobbs could possibly RS this year.

Nah, they will do the thing teams always do to lure elite prospects who want to play a less than optimal position: give them "a shot" at the position they want. He'll inevitably fail to win PT at QB and then we have an elite athlete we can put on the field elsewhere.

The big thing is we are in the top 3 of a 5* qb. Recruiting is going to explode with the Nike deal. The game in Bristol. And the fact that I said so. Lol

He is still a good QB prospect. He is a more athletic version of pat white. I'd take him every day of the week.

We don't play in the Big Least. Pat White was a product of a system and high school level competition.
Pat had a career completion rate of 65% and was money against ranked opponents. I still remember watching him rush 250 yards against Syracuse his Soph year, just incredible to watch. Great player. He did not pan out in the pros but then again how many true dual threat QBs do? The list is very short. He was a great college QB no reason to down play his skills.

This dude is not even a 2* QB. 2* QB's can play QB for their own HS, not get moved to WR.

Has it actually been confirmed he is moving to WR? I saw 1 poster say it in here, but never saw confirmation. I know he was at WR in some camps, but never saw it confirmed that he is moving there for his HS team.

I believe this is all we have to go off of. But where there is smoke . . .

Torrance Gibson wants to be recruited only at quarterback: Florida athlete planning visits

Gibson has not been working on playing quarterback all that much early on in 7-on-7 season, playing almost exclusively receiver, where he has made highlight catches and torched some of the best defensive backs in the state. It will be interesting to see how much quarterback he plays over the next several months. Despite the struggles as a passer and his seemingly effortless success at receiver in previous competitions, Gibson is determined to play quarterback in college, following in the footsteps of Cam Newton and Michael Vick. In fact, he is not even listening to schools that suggest playing receiver, or even having a receiver as a backup plan in case quarterback does't work out. "It goes in one ear and out the other," Gibson said.

With his off-the-charts athleticism and build, and a very real option to switch to receiver in college, where he would likely be rated as one of the best in the country, Gibson realizes that picking a school that utilizes his athleticism to open up the passing game will be important for him to remain at QB. "Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida, Clemson, Oklahoma, a few others," he said when asked which schools had the best plan to take advantage of his skills. All of those teams run some variation of the spread, and most incorporate a fair amount of spread option concepts.

Also said he has been working with Elite 11 QB Jordan Palmer to correct his throwing motion.

I bet in hindsight Jordan Palmer wishes he had corrected HIS OWN throwing motion :)

He would be a great qb for CBJ's system. I don't see why people don't want a 5 star #1 6'4 4.4 forty qb. Ridiculous.

A lot of people were turned off by the reports coming from all of the camps. Apparently he was having trouble throwing the ball, so he moved to WR. If you watch his film, most of his highlights are him running the ball and not throwing. With the bad showing at camps, its highly possible he will lose his 5th star. Either way, I would love to have him. But I think he is just playing with our fan base for the attention.

We DO have #6 vacant on the roster. TK Jr. will take it on the defensive side, but it's his on the offense! Just sayin'! ;)
