Possible I suppose. But im not buying. We may still be recruiting him. But if so seems like a backup plan from info earlier in the Jelks thread

Don't be naive. We are still sending coaches to visit him, we got beat by Vandy who offers a MUCH better depth chart on the OL AND a better education for Jelks. No hate on him or anything, but don't fool yourself into thinking we didn't go hard after him.

Reading his thread I really don't think we did. We asked him to wait to commit instead of committing to vandy. I. E. backup plan. So as hard as you go after a backup plan yes we went after him hard I guess.

I think if we really really wanted him he'd be a vol. just like now I think if we really want him he will switch. But I really don't think we take him.

I could be wrong on all accounts of course. I'm not in the know. As I doubt you are either

You might be right. But I'm still not buying. Iirc OCI implied he was backup plan

And popular opinion seems to be he's not a take. But I'm not an evaluator

Seems like a backup plan to me

I just don't see him picking vandy over ut unless he were a backup plan. Just like I'm hoping McCullers commits to ut if he's just bamas backup plan.

Hey thunder, what's our ranking going to look like next Monday after we have Autry, Sentimore and O. Jacobs committed?

Also, I know Sentimore is a 3star now but once Perroni gets around to watching his film and updating the JUCO's (should be any day now) it's very likely he'll be a 4star I would think.

Anyone with a brain can see he's a 4* but I'm not a fan of perroni and he's obviously not a fan of ut

Don't hold your breath on Sentimore being bumped. FWIW 247 has O Jacobs as a 4*.

Here's afew scenarios:

No changes to the current JUCO rankings...1658 points

One of Jacobs or Sentimore bumps to 4*...about 1720-1725 points (depending on where they fall in the JUCO top 50)

Both bump to 4* (good chance...IMO...after seeing their highlights)...1800-1810 points (depending on where they fall in the JUCO top 50

You can see Skeeter and NYC saying it in the Jelks forum, I cant give you a link for Callahan and the other recruting analysts because it was on message boards.

It happens all the time, Vandy has a good education and is more favorable for him to play right away. He might just like the school better. Why did Kimbrow choose Vandy over other schools? Why did Sheldon Dawson or Deangelo Willaims choose Memphis? It happens. We arent going to get every recruit we go after.

It is obvious that we wanted Jelks extremely bad, we called him and talked to him all night when he committed trying to get him to change his mind.

This staff wants Jelks. If he chooses Vandy it will be for something other than ut not wanting or taking him at this time. Maybe Franklin sold him on vandy.
I will say this, dont take this as anything other than a possibility because ive heard nothing . But CHH is one of those guys you either love or hate and his coaching style isnt for everyone. I do know hes rubbed a couple of recruits the wrong way, again not saying Jelks is one of those. But for the most part the kids really like chh.

Thats what Skeeter wrote in the Jelks thread

The coaches told Jelks they would wait till signing day for him
