'10 GA OLB Michael Taylor

NGM was getting dominated in his short stint of PT against VT, It looks like he is running in quick sand and if he is getting significant PT next year we are in trouble

i cant beleive he is only a 3 star....is it cuz he is a little small, i mean i was watching his film and he is a beast

NMT was the 4th string MLB. That says a lot honestly.

Next year though, I'm worried about our LBs

Our probable starting WLB is coming off major knee surgery, depth behind him is basically a RS freshman who may or may not make the grades.
Our probable starting MLB is coming off major knee surgery. Lathers should be solid as a backup though at least, but I wouldn't expect him to do much as a starter compared with Reveiz
SLB will be alright with King who should make major improvement or Thompson.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Myles gain some weight and move down to WLB honestly though, pending if we sign any SS prospects

You're right. Just making a point to all the people who say NMT sucks and Askew is gonna be a stud. One of them seen the field, one of them didn't...

I didn't get to see that much of the LBs on Blur but from what I saw Michael Taylor and Christian Jones stud out the most. I will keep a closer eye on Luc tomorrow. Jones is a freak and I think he needs to move up the rankings.

- Jamie Newberg...

Yeah, but Askew has all of the physical tools in the world. Its just a matter of learning it.

NMT may haev just grasped it quicker, but he may already be about capped out since he isn't the same physical specimen. Plus he just played since the first 3 MLBs got injured really

It really just depends on how bad Askew wants it I think

could be,
but Askew not being able to be eligible already tells me alot about him and his work ethic and preparedness.
Im not to optomistic about his future

He's not going to be allowed to practice this spring correct? or him not being eligible only counts toward the ball game ?

But he wasn't at MLB. If he was I could see that, but oh well.

And is the thing about him not being eligible really legit? I thought I remember Kiffin saying that everyone was eligible if needed. I know he doesn't exactly have the best grades though

Didnt Askew say in training camp that he wasnt up to par with the system and wasnt against redshirting?

And Frazier wasn't an MLB either but he still played the position...

Yes it's legit. All the players who "played" were available for the bowl game. Askew is being redshirted so he isn't included in that category. Askew is the only player on the whole team who isn't academically eligible...

He must be pretty dumb to manage to get himself academically ineligible in a year when he is red-shirting.
