I was impressed with Taylor this week. Like I said before, he is a hustler with a lot of desire to be in on every play. The entire LB core on Team White is small, so he fit right in and was around the ball as much as anyone. His instincts are very good and were likely the best on his team.
The thing about Taylor is, he is has to stay free and in space. If an OL, FB, or TE got their hands on him, he had a hard time getting off the block. He needs to work on his hands and added strength will help him there as well. He was one of the top 3 backers I saw all week in practice.
This came from Chad Simmons on Scout. Being called "one of the top 3 LBs" is HUGE praise for Taylor. Just to give you an idea how much praise that is, here are some of the LBs in this game: Jordan Hicks, Christian Jones, Jeff Luc, Corey Nelson, among many others. For him to be 3rd out of a group like that is big time...
I'm going to guess he red shirts. We have a lot of young LB talent that will be further along and more developed than him for next year.
It is yet to be determined if Askew or Nelson will ever get on the field. Askew is academically ineligible right now as well...
Nigel Mitchell-Thornton and King should some more pt next year...
