I posted this link in the Rettig and Brunetti thread. Check out what is says about Brunetti. For some reason when reading this article I almost got the feeling it's not over with Scroggins either.

I don't think the Rettig offer is as much a definite sign of Scrog to USC as it is an insurance policy. A great one in my humble mind!

Has anyone noticed that this is a lot like (America's got talent ) with Coach M L and O at the judging table?

He will have to earn an offer based on his own merit. Kiffin has already stated that he does not do "package deals" in which a player who will likely never contribute gets an offer in hopes of getting a talented relative or friend to commit as well.

I like this about him. I could understand if a kid is an exceptional all-world type, but Scroggins is far from it.
We need every scholarship we have.

with the rettig offer, does that mean to you that scroggins has informed the coaches that he is committed to UT or is the offer directly in response to the rees commit to notre dame.

Answer:

I think it is more in response to Rees heading to Notre Dame. I think in the perfect world Tennessee signs two quarterbacks. I think in the reality world they get one. I don't think any of the three schools particularly Southern Cal and Tennessee think they are out on Scroggins.

I expect big things from Rettig. Hopefully he will see the light, call BC and tell them thanks, but no thanks.

It sounds like Hubbs has backed off on UF. That makes sense, so maybe Scroggins is being rational. Still though, USC lean--and that's not a dumb choice.

I was thinking the same thing. It's not that I don't trust Hubbs a lot more than a lot of other sources, but this is a guy who seemed to think it was down to UF/UT for the last month or two and it seriously hasn't seemed that way in the least.

So in the end, I think we still don't really know what Jesse's going to do yet.
