I'll take any QB that can lead us to a championship.
remember people, these are just commitements. this time last year, nu'keese was a uf commit and janzen jackson was a lsu commit.
i would love for these guys to commit to ut from the get go, but it's where they sign their LOI that i'm more worried about. scroggins could very well commit to usc the 25th, but come national signing day, he could be a vol. we've already seen that scenario played out with this staff, who's to say it can't or won't happen again.

I think if he is a silent, then they want him to hold out the announcement just in case Scroggins has a change of heart. They don't want to show Scroggins they are jumping ship on him.
((Also-As comfortable as Scroggins has been with the Vols, he does have one concern.
Just basically all the hoopla thats going on all the violations and stuff, Scroggins said on Monday.))
This sounds like him giving himself an excuse to not commit to UT. What high school junior really cares about secondary violations? Not looking good fellas
I don't think that us offering Rettig means that we have lost out on Scroggins. I think that since we think Rettig will commit a lot sooner than Scroggins that we can do more recruiting offensive players sooner. I still hope for the prospect of getting both Scroggins and Rettig as our two.
I still have no clue whatever when it comes to Scroggins. Anytime USC is in the picture, I have to wonder.
If it were the other way around it would make more sense. You don't create more space between you and your family if you are reconsidering, you create less.
If this happens, alot of ppl will be shocked. I think the only reason we did offer Rettig is because he was about to commit. But, I do think it signals where we stand in the Scroggins race.
Good point. Some want to compare this to Nukeese Richardson last year, but distance was never a big issue with Nuke. He chose UT on signing day over Florida for other reasons. If Scroggins commits to UT, I will not rest easy until his name is on the dotted line.

Rettig appears rational and is heading for the best opportunity in which he's confident he can play. If he is the next Jay Cutler, and he's our guy, in due time he'll make us forget about all the other QB names we've discussed.
If Scroggins was processing the decision as rationally as Rettig appears to be, we'd be done and Scroggins would be a Vol.
heres a nasty scenario...
what if JS does commit to UT. its expected, or at least hoped for, of him to draw some hot recruits to our program. now fast forward to NSD, and he decommits. what happens to all the recruits that followed in his steps?
