Good observation OP. My 30 years of USAF service has tough me some hard lessons. it's usually better to slow down and aim, think through a situation (not necessarily a problem at this stage) vs shooting from the hip. Here's are my thoughts and consideration on why we had some of the misses...

My perspective on OP's original question: 1) Early Signing Period. Two significant impacts on yesterday's outcome: a) They had about a week to load up for the early signing period. His staff did well leaning on previously established relationships. The early signing class was good...

Crazy time of year...and I was expecting very few waves from this point in. Has this been confrimed by another source yet?...right now everything I've read is coming from the HS coach. Interested to see how this plays out.
