Just had to share

Some are so agenda driven they would not buy....*
Gold for a dollar an ounce.....

ONLY If you put on your ANTI filter you can view his original post as selling CDD as the next Joepa...

He is pointing out that those that have inherent faith in their OWN program analysis skills were proved WRONG at PSU....* could it have been better?* NOBODY will ever know....* could it have been worse?* NOBODY will ever know...* so it is ignorant to apply rampant speculation in either direction, but it certainly improved back to a much higher level, but for those with cerebral skin in the game*it *is never enough.* *Facts and reason may seem like a poor substitute for passion for some.** Humility is a terrible thing to waste....and is certainly not valued on these boards by a large percentage of the most prolific posters...**I have little regard for any fan who can justify taking public pot shots at any element of the program this close to signing day.** Maybe I have missed something..... can you provide me with any risk/reward analysis where these actions by fans will actually help this team win more games the next couple of years?*

The whole world recognizes free speech rights, too few value discretion.

In today's society your not allowed to have an opinion. If your views do not coincide with what is considered popular to the masses then you are passed off as psychotic babble. Hence it is not the person with the more logical opinion, but the one which screams are loudest from the crowd.

Yeah. Ok.
I think what the OP from TOS was getting at is the Volspiracy theory. The media yada yada. Hate hate. Yada yada.
In reality as much as it pains me to say, most of the posters that call for change are fans too. They just do not think our coach can get us to the level they want to see us in. They have unrealistic expectations that UT can be in NC game every year. They are willing to sacrifice a moderate climb to success, along with any progress made to that end just to get a feel good hire. The problem with that is that it will create a tradition of change. I think it was time for Phil to step down, but we (the AD) threw the baby out with the bathwater withthe way that was handled. He should have been promoted out of the coaching job to assistant AD, and tasked with hiring a new HC when his last contract expired. That would have allowed him and the boosters/Hammy to save face.
A team can not be a NC contender every year. Unless they are causing unnatural attrition. The recruiting process by its nature causes up years and down years. If a team is never having down years, it is because of oversigning, and that is the reason the SEC has changed the rules on that.
All that being said, I think Dooley can take us to SEC CG with 2 in 5 regularly and NC 1 in 20. At least with what I saw over the last 2 years. That all hinges on the assistant coasches he has with him. A HC doesn't get teams to NC, his assistant coaches, players, and fans do.

TRANSLATION: I you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all; especially right before signing day. Everything to lose, nothing to gain.

What people say on a PUBLIC forum where ANYONE can post, doesn't have the impact some think

For the love of God, no one expects us to be in the NC game every year. We are so distant from being in the NC contention that there is room for a lot of varying expectations in between.

Sorry, but the "NC game every year" mantra is a gross overexaggeration when used to describe those who want more from this program, like actually being competitive in our own conference.

That's exactly what we need. More instability.

I really don't think you want to point to stability as a reason for keeping Dooley right now. Give him the year to see if he falls on his face or rises to the challenge finally but I really think the excuse well has run dry, time for results.

I agree. Hence important governmental, institutional and corporate decisions being made based on the interpretations of opinion polls.

Not smart.

The OP makes a valid point IMO. Its one thing to have your opinion, but some of the topics CAN hurt recruiting. Ask mzterry. There are a few recruits who are on the fence. Some might come here to read what we think of them or the program. Others have friends, coaches, or family members who might stumble across this site.

Some on here paint the rock to 'advertise' this site, and if they come here they see a faction of the fan base who is always critical and always calling for a coaches head. People will see this at numerous message boards of other schools where the fan base is less than happy with results. It doesn't change the fact we are living in the information age where the internet and social networks influence people.

I put my business on Facebook and have been amazed by the amount of traffic it has generated for me. I did it because it was free and why not, but people see my work and testimonies from real customers and my phone rings more.

Fans will be fans, but don't think for a second that some of the ranting on this board don't get to these recruits. If i was a coach of a rival school, I would have been happy to tell a recruit to check out our forum a few weeks ago when all the 'Dooley sucks thread' and 'who his replacement is'were being posted.
