WR next year

dont think it will be a recruit - i think Teague will get switched back to WR and Neal will go back to RB - Teague would then fit in as slot guy

if i had to pick a recruit id go with Pig for slot (that is assuming CPatterson doesnt sign)

Really? I had high hopes for Teague (my favorite recruit from that class) but I have never been impressed with his hands.

BTW, how long have you been in Charleston? Was stationed there for 5 years.

I think you alternate Pig and Teague in the slot. I bet Croom sees alot of pt and we may see some 4-5 reciever sets which we haven't seen alot of lately

None of the freshman will be ready to contribute a lot until later in the season. That's just the way it goes, trying to learn the ropes at WR. Requires a lot more than throwing a freshman RB in. I wish more of them were EE's.

I hope we are stocking up enough at DB to move Teague back to the slot, if we don't land Patterson.

EDIT: Didn't realize Howard is an EE, so that might changes things.

Yeah...well thats what I was hoping for but that didn't work out for us lol
Edit: year, not tear.
You also said current recruit, which wouldn't apply to Arnett anyhow, even if he was here.

I say Howard. He would be in the slot, and since we are short in that position, I think he could contribute the fastest.
As far as how this group compares to the past, it's good, but not the best. The tear we got Meachem, Swain, & Smith was better IMO.

Dallas. With Rogers, Hunter, and Neal opening things up I think Dallas will breakout. Wouldn't sleep on Clear though. Croom and Bowles should be good late in the year but, as previously stated, it's just too difficult for freshman in general.

We all want stud incoming recruits to significantly contribute right away but most of the time that is the exception so I think we need to balance our veterans more evenly.

Its great that Neal can play either WR or RB. Think we need him at RB at least for the first half of the season. That gives us Neal and Lane besides all the incoming recruits.

At WR we got Hunter, Rogers (both D and Z) and to some extent Dallas. Plenty of room from an incoming stud or two to contribute.

Air Force Vol - ditto on the thanks for your service! Many people have no idea of the level of sacrifice called for by a small percentage of our population. Know it is also hard on the families. You and your brethren are real heroes!

Thank you sir,

Couldn't agree with you more about your post either. It's rare that you see a true freshman step in and become a difference maker from the beginning. I think early on, we will have to rely on the others to lead the way but I really like this group of incoming guys.

Its been a long time since we had this much speed coming in one class as well.

Read a post from OCI about our depth next year at WR and wanted to get others opinion. If Hunter comes back as good as ever and we get a repeat of what we saw from D. Rodgers...which current WR recruit will be ready to step in right away and be the number 3 guy? Not who you think will be the best after 3-4 years but on day one against N.C. State.

Also, how do you feel this groups of WR, considering we keep Croom, Bowles, and Howard compares to the great WR groups of the past?

I see Rajon Neal being a solid number 3 receiver if he is not moved back to running back. I really didn't understand why he didn't get a shot at running back. He stood out in the Kentucky game when the focus was upon Rogers. With Hunter and Rogers back at full strength look for the Neal to be a great number 3 if he isn't our starting tailback.
