Rivals is reporting that Orgeron to LSU is a done deal...package rumored to be the highest ever for a position coach.
Scout is reporting that the deal is very close to being done.
Chris Low was on WWL with Bobby Hebert and Mike Detillier tonight and was asked what he thought Orgeron would do.
He said that his opinion may change 10 times between now and the end but right now he thinks he'll end up at TN. He certainly did not sound like he had inside information that a...
Well, based on everthing I've read, I think it's fair to say that you are wrong about the personal relationship stuff because it sure appears as if he's been offered.
Having said that, that doesn't say anything about whether he'll be at TN or not. He very well may end up at TN anyway.
But that only makes sense if you think LSU in fact has not offered Orgeron.
So, by that logic, if in fact LSU has offered (no way of proving this), that would mean that their relationship is a non-factor.
I guess my point is that it's off base because Orgeron was offered the DL/AHC position over a week ago. So, unless he's turned it down and it's just being kept under wraps, Orgeron at LSU is still a possibility.
I think you are mistaken if you think Chavis will have control over that...
One thing I failed to mention that could be noteworthy is that Hebert's comment was in response to another media member's opinion that he would ultimately end up at TN (I believe that guy was from TN, but not sure).
Hebert chimed in on his own and said something to the effect of "You know...
The offer for Orgeron is as a DL coach / Assistant Head Coach. So, your question doesn't really make sense.
If Chavis is allowed to bring his own DL coach, it is because Orgeron has alreadt turned down the offer...not vice versa. To date, nobody has been able to report that Orgeron has...
There is information other than from LSU fans saying Orgeron will go to LSU.
Bobby Hebert, longtime friend of Orgeron, stated tonight that he thinks Orgeron goes to LSU or stays with the Saints.
For those that don't know, Hebert is the former Saints QB who is now the major radio sports...
So, I'm guessing you just don't believe that there actually is an offer on the table from LSU as has been reported by LSU sources and Tennessee sources?
To be honest, I don't really want to come onto your board and argue how good/bad LSU's future looks (although I do disagree with you). I'm sure you guys would rather keep the topic on TN as you should.
I'm just trying to give you some rumor mill information on the coaching hires from another...
